Dear Friends of Merri Creek member or supporter,

Below are some events that you may be interested in.  None of these events are listed in the Friends of Merri Creek newsletter Merri Growler, for either the previous edition (February) or the next one (May), so this email is likely to be the only way that you’ll know about them.

By the way, if you receive the Merri Growler, please note that the May edition is likely to be a little late.

An Evening with the Birds of Merri Creek
Join us for an informative talk on the birds of the Merri Creek. Learn about our feathered friends who share the creek corridor with us and the ways they have adapted to living in the urban environment. There will also be information on the Friends of the Merri Creek Bird Survey and how you can become involved in it.
When: Tuesday 29 April, 7.30 – 9.00pm
Where: Harry Atkinson Centre, Lake Grove, North Coburg (Melway 17 H10)

Merri Creek Catchment Crawl
Come along to Dight’s Falls to explore the new fish ladder, then jump on the bus and enjoy a guided tour up the Merri to Lalor where we will sample the waterbugs.
When:  Sunday 4 May, 10.00am – 2.30pm
Where: Meeting at Dight’s Falls weir, below Trenerry Crescent, Abbortsford (Melway 44 F3)

Edwardes Lake Frog Survey
Edwardes Lake and Leamington wetland in Reservoir provide habitat for a number of local frog species. Come along on this evening walk as we discover and record these frogs.
When: Thursday 8 May 6.00-7.30pm
Where: Meet at Leamington Street Scout Hall, Reservoir

Waterwatch Training Day
If you are interested in becoming a Waterwatch volunteer who monitors our creeks by conducting a variety of simple water quality tests please come along to our free training day.
When: Saturday 31 May 10am-3.30pm
