Friends of Edgars Creek

Untitled-2

Hi Everyone,

Just an FYI - the Friends of Merri Creek newsletter, The Growler is available online. FoEC has a regular contribution on matters FoEC or other content as per the latest edition: follow the link to view (and if you have any ideas for contributions please drop me a line):

Please also see attached a run down of Wurundjeri Week activities. A great opportunity to develop an understanding of the first mob that called our creeks and country their home.

See you all soon I hope when we plant again on the 16th of August at the Gooseneck extension area.

Kind regards,

David P.

Hi All,

We've recently accumulated a collection of cloth pocket nappies and inserts.  We don't need all of them and I'm looking to give away the extras.   All are second-hand but in very good condition. They are a mix of small/newborn sizes and one-size, mostly snap closures, with a few velcro. I haven't used any of them and my understanding is that most were only very lightly used.

I have 28 available in total:

21 Babyland nappies:
4 apple green, 3 bright yellow, 4 orange, 2 lilac, 3 light pink,1 bubblegum pink, 2 light blue, 2 red

4 Green Kids (all newborn/small) nappies:
2 green, 1 red, 1 turquoise

1 red Pea Pod nappy
1 pink Rainbow BB nappy

If you would like some or all of them please text me (no calls please) at 0422 262 775.

House Sitters

Untitled-2

Hi,
Anyone looking for lovely house-sitters over Xmas period?  Your house will be cared for and returned in the same condition you left it in! I have family coming from interstate who would love to have a home nearby to stay in (as ours is too small to fit everyone).  We are in Coburg North, anything close by from Xmas Eve to around the 2nd of January would be much appreciated.  Please contact me for any details.
Thank you and warmest regards,
Sue.

Thank You

Untitled-2

Hi to the Newlands Community.
A big thank you to everyone who has donated items to the asylum seeker family who had their payments stopped by the Immigration Department.
The family is extremely grateful to everyone for their generosity and kindness.
The Immigration Department has reinstated the families payments so their immediate crises is over.
The response has been extraordinary so a big thank you from myself and everyone at the community centre for your support.
Cheers,
Jenny Rayner.

Clothes Swap

Untitled-2

Hi Folks.

Our next Clothes Swap is scheduled for Sunday August 2.

Beginning at 2.00 at our usual place in Cox Reserve (corner of Elizabeth and Claremont St's).

If it rains we should be able to use the community house.

Bring along anything (not just clothes) you no longer need and swap it for something more useful.

It costs $5.00 per family to join in and you can take as much home as you like.

The proceeds of this swap are going to pay for the VCE class at Sydney Road Community School to see Bob Brown speak at a global politics lecture.

Hope to see you there!

Wanted

Untitled-2

Wanted - Bungalow/granny flat/studio to rent
Hey, I'm  a 30 year old female, looking for a bungalow/granny flat/studio somewhere in the Coburg/ Brunswick/Preston area. I don't mind sharing some spaces but it would be preferable to have my own entrance and maybe a sink and/or bathroom. Gay friendly too :)
I'm flexible with moving dates and looking for something between $500 and $1000/month. Bond and rent in advance is no problem.
I also have a well behaved cat named Zim who is very friendly and gets along well with other pets.
A bit about me:
- Working full-time as a Carpenter/Maintenance Officer in community housing
- Studying project management part-time
- Vegan
- Very respectful of shared spaces, etc.
- Generally quiet and keep to myself but also like to unwind with a few drinks on the weekends or evenings.
In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with friends, going to gigs, losing myself in internet black holes only to emerge several hours later wondering where my day has gone :) I also occasionally like to build furniture and other projects for myself or friends.
If you have anything that sounds like a match or if you have any queries feel free to email tess.c.elliott@gmail.com or text/call 0420 663 808.
