Untitled-2

The Upfield Transport Alliance will be having a rally on 10th August 11am at Bain Reserve, Coburg North, near the Merlyston Station.

We are wanting more frequent trains  - 10 minute trains - which can happen if there is duplication of the Upfield Track.

Feedback Needed

Untitled-2

Hi All.

I’m new to Reservoir and thinking of sending my children to Edwardes St Childcare and Kindergarten. I am wondering if anyone has used this child care or is using it and could give me your feedback on how you have found it.

Would be much appreciated!

Anna.

Hello Lovely People.

I am trying to help our little primary school in Preston/Coburg to start a soccer club. There are a lot of kids interested, however there are many who don’t have access to soccer boots/shin pads and the like for various reasons. If anyone has soccer boots or shin pads or other soccer equipment in useable condition that they no longer need, could I please take them off your hands? I assure you they will be going to a kid who will be THRILLED to have them. Thank you so much.

Sarah 0431 865 502.

Thank you so much.

Monday Yoga/Tuesday Yoga
In this class, intuitive, fluid movements are included within the hatha practice. Simona says: "I encourage people to listen to their body and move the way that feels good to them. If you need a gentle practice you could definitely do my class as I support students to practice in the way that suits them - gently or more intensely, depending upon their specific situation. Movements can be modified to suit students needs. I encourage students to take resting poses whenever they need to, and move at the pace they are comfortable with. Basically I want the yoga I deliver to become the student's yoga in the sense that they are tailoring the practice to suit their body and situation."
Monday OR Tuesday 6.30-7.30pm.
$100 (waged) or $80 (unwaged) for 9 sessions.

Dangerous Laneway

Untitled-2

Hello, do you ride/walk down this dangerous laneway?

I am seeking fellow neighbours who walk/ride down this laneway and would like Darebin Council to make it safe for pedestrians.

Between No.71 Powell St and the single lane/go slow where Beatty and Cameran meet there is a single lane road running north/south. On Google maps, it is Powell St running north-south. The street sign states it is Birdwood St. It has signage that promotes it as being part of The Great Western Shimmy. In our family, we refer to it as "The Death Trap".

Perhaps I can inspire you to email Darebin Council?

Below are some of my inquiries/concerns that perhaps others have as well:

* I am interested to know if the council has done an audit on the traffic flow down this lane?
* As a part of a bike route, could this lane be closed to cars?

The southern end of the lane between Cameron and Haig has been blocked to cars and it would then be building on that safe pedestrian travel route.

*The area has no safe crossing point for pedestrians and cyclists to travel north/south.
* The "go slow" where Beatty and Cameran St meet the lane needs more signage.
* The areas approaching this intersection need speed bumps to deter/slow the traffic down.
*The southern end of the lane requires a safe pedestrian crossing point, that is not through the "go slow" area.
* The area needs more signage that cars are sharing the road with pedestrians/cyclists.
* Can there be a crossing put in here where cars are to give way to pedestrians?

Safe travels everyone.

Gardening Meditation

Caring for the Soul ~ GARDENING MEDITATION
NEXT SESSION: Saturday July 20th 10-11.30am
CERES Joe's Market Garden
Gardening Meditation is a deeply restorative practice, which takes place in a market garden on the Merri Creek. In the session we spend time in the field, gently weeding while being guided into a slow, meditative state. This is facilitated partly by myself, and mostly by the field itself, full of life with vegetables, birds, old trees, creek and other soothing sounds. Gardening Meditation is an easeful way to connect to the earth, slow down, find balance and nourish your soul.
