Untitled-2

Hi!

I have a harvest of wine grapes across the back deck of my new house in Nth Coburg that now seem to be ripe, as they're now dropping at a pace. While I am an enthusiastic consumer of wine, a maker I am not! And they're definitely a bit too tart for eating (unless you like them that way).

So if you are a backyard winemaker, or fancy yourself as such, please feel free to drop me a line and you're welcome to come take some or all.

Moreland Celebrating Place Grants Program
Applications for Moreland City Council’s Celebrating Place Grants Program are now open and everyone’s invited to apply!
The Celebrating Place Grants Program provides support for community groups to organise an event or celebration that connects people in new and interesting ways and enriches the social life of Moreland’s community. It especially aims to recognise and celebrate the contribution of Moreland’s smaller groups and organisations, and the role they play in forming the building blocks of a connected and engaged community.
Events might involve music, food, sustainability or the arts. They may celebrate unique aspects of culture or bring together people in the many public places in our community. It could be a small project or a big one. Ideas for applications should seek to entertain, inspire and promote active community participation. Festivals and events delivered in areas which have limited arts or community activities provided by Council are especially welcome!

Recommendation Sought

Untitled-2
Hi all,

I’m looking for a Draftsperson to help us draw up plans for a builder and building permit for an extension and renovation.

We’re on the Darebin side of Elizabeth St, in one of the Newlands style red brick semi detached cottages.

If anyone can recommend a good drafter and/or builder I’d appreciate it.

Amelia 0411 294 150.

Free filing cabinets.
A two-draw beige and a four-draw dark green filing cabinet up for grabs. Take one or both. Some suspension files included. Both are looking a bit scruffy from packing tape being used to tape them shut during a move and being left on too long... Would probably come off if you wanted to make them more presentable.

Free apple wireless keyboard and mouse.

These have been sitting un-used for a few years but still working fine when last checked.

Needed

Untitled-2

Hi lovely Newlands people,

The oven in our house in Preston has died and it's going to cost more to repair than the thing is worth. Does anyone know of an electric benchtop type oven looking for a new home? We are looking for a temporary replacement for our tenants, as a whole new kitchen is on the cards later this year once we move back from interstate.

0407 830 820

Thanks in advance,
Anna.

Beautiful Organic Garlic For Sale

Untitled-2

Straight from Alan the organic garlic farmer in Pearcedale!

These garlic bulbs were harvested 5 weeks ago and are now ready to eat, they taste and smell incredible.

They've been grown without the use of pesticides and Alan spent a LOT of time hand weeding around them.

Last year we bought a couple of kilos and froze them so we wouldn't have to buy imported garlic in the middle of our winter. Imported Chinese garlic tastes nothing like this and once it's been frozen it's even easier to peel.

This year the harvest is a bit smaller and Alan hasn't cleaned or de-stemmed them, so he's selling them in rustic bunches for a reduced price. This means that we are able to buy premium organic garlic much cheaper than anywhere else!!

On Wednesday we picked out the best of the bunch and bought them to Coburg to share with the Newlands community.

The bunches haven't been weighed, just tied together and do range from smaller to bigger bunches. Each bunch is $5.50 and often comes with 5 bulbs, some smaller, some bigger.

We are hoping that people will want to buy a few bunches and can take a range of bigger and smaller, this is how fair farming goes.

We bought up 150 bunches and can buy more if needed but wasn't sure what the demand would be. We were visiting family so no extra miles have been wasted getting them to Coburg.

We bought enough for our whole family for the whole year. Last year we did the same and it was awesome, beautiful garlic was on hand whenever we needed it.

Please text with how many bunches you would like on 0404 043 010.
We would like most people to come and pick up their garlic on Monday Jan 25th between 7.30 and 9.30 and pay cash on pick up. Pick up from Livingstone St North Coburg.

You really won't find better, healthier, cheaper garlic than this.

From Mel and Andy.

Men's Circle

Untitled-2

Northern Melbourne Men’s Circle

There are spaces available within the Northern Melbourne Men’s Circle based in Coburg North, running fortnightly on Tuesday evenings 7 till 9.30 p.m.

Sitting in circle, men support each other and share life experiences, challenges, accomplishments and insights by participating in an environment that supports the growth of raw honesty, feeling deeply, interpersonal relating, and talking about things that really matter to each Man. The circle is a facilitated, safe and confidential space that seeks to foster integrity, positive insight and personal growth, brotherhood and community.

The group is facilitated by Paul Carey and Kyle Osborne, both with years of Men’s work and facilitation experience. The group runs in 6 session blocks where participants are asked to commit for that duration. After this, the circle is then opened up and participants may change if desired, or remain in the circle for another 6 sessions. This is ongoing.

If you are a Man who would like to gather in circle and explore personal and life issue’s in this way through a combination of open discussion, themed topics, and with process work and therapeutic ceremony, then please give either Paul 0401 272 510, or Kyle 0438 336 623 a call for a conversation around your interest and any questions.

Cost for the circle each gathering is $20 each participant, $120 for all Six.
