WINTER SCHOOL

1st/2nd July 2023

10am – 5pm each day

Surrey Hills and Brunswick

Two days of ukulele and guitar ensembles, workshops, and singing.

You're invited to our first Winter School weekend where you’ll experience the joy of playing in a guitar and ukulele ensemble, you'll learn to create your own solo in the improvisation workshops, and you’ll sing in harmony in the singing sessions. Beginner to intermediate players all welcome!

This will be a weekend of musical marvellous-ness.

WHAT WE WILL DO:

1.    Ensemble playing in the morning where will put together three songs with parts for ukulele and guitar, instrumental solos.

2.    Improvisation after lunch. In this class we’ll have some fun creating solos for our songs. There is a beginner class and an intermediate class.

3.     Singing in the afternoon. In this session we will sing together. Those who play instruments are welcome to bring them along. However, the focus will be on singing in unison and in harmonyIf you don't like to sing, bring your instruments so that you can accompany the singers. Accompanying singers is a great skill to practice.

4. Sunday afternoon we will bring everyone together to play and sing as a big beautiful finale to a great musical weekend.

WHERE IS IT HELD?

In the spirit of creating music making opportunities for more Melbournians, we are hosting the event across two suburbs.
