School Holidays Netball and Arts Camp! 

All Day Camp Friday 14th July for Girls and Boys 5yrs-15yrs.

Venue: Coburg Basketball Stadium, 25 Outlook Road, Coburg North.

Time: 9am-4pm.

Cost: $50 per Child.

Healthy morning and afternoon tea provided. Lunch, Water bottle and comfortable clothing with runners required.

Music Classes

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

We have an introductory special of $10 per session for our early childhood Mummy, Music 🎶 & Me class which is run every day during the school holidays. These classes will also continue throughout the school term. Please quote early bird 1 when booking.

With school holidays quickly approaching, The Melbourne Inner North Performing Arts Academy, which is a social enterprise community music school based in Pascoe Vale is proud to announce its July Music Camp for children which will continue into term 3 with weekly lessons for all ages

All students will be given the opportunity to learn the piano/keyboard, violin/guitar/ukulele, percussion/drums, singing, and creative movement/dance. Classes will be capped at 10 students per session, with each child having their own individual instrument to play in a group setting.

We also offer a few highly subsidised and free programs for vulnerable members of the community as part of the launch of our new programs. Please contact us if you think you qualify.

EID Afternoon Tea

The weather might be cold, but the welcome to Newlands Prmary School fundraising afternoon tea will be warm!!

All community members are invited to join in the Eid (end of Ramadan) event on Thursday 29 June 3.30 - 6pm. You can learn about Muslim culture, try delicious treats, get henna hand decorations and a photo in traditional clothing, or just chill out listening to music in the Arabic seating area. There'll be games for the kids, prizes for an adult quiz and lots more.

We've recently expanded our studio and now have openings on Saturdays and Tuesdays for piano lessons. Just thought we'd get in touch as some people had missed out due to there being no availability.

We are sad to say goodbye to the lovely Daniella who has been running Family Music for 2 years. Thank you Daniella!

Family Music is a fun group for toddlers and carers to sing together and with others, currently running on Mondays at 9.30am for an hour at Newlands Community House.

Soooooo... we are looking for a volunteer to continue the fun who has some basic music/singing skills to lead this group - with or without your own bub!

Community Event

On Thursday 29th June3.30-6pm, the local community will have the opportunity to experience different elements of Muslim culture at the Newlands Primary School fundraising Eid afternoon tea, to mark the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting for Muslims. The $5 per family entry free will cover fun and free activities for kids and adults (eg. games, henna painting, face-painting, write your name in Arabic calligraphy, traditional dress ups etc) - there'll be a small charge for those keen to try yummy multicultural food items and refreshments like Arabic coffee and sage/peppermint tea. 

All are welcome!

Food Swaps

Our food swaps are still going strong - in fact, we have another one on this Saturdayin South Preston.
When?  11:00 am to 12:00 pm
Where? Corner of Oakover Road and High St, South Preston (outside the op shop, either at the front in the garden or out the back if shade is needed)
Food Swaps are an occasion to meet your community, talk about gardens and sustainability and swap excess produce from your garden, or something you made in your kitchen. You bring some and get to take some away as with all good swaps.
Ideas of what to bring:
  • seeds from your garden
  • seedlings
  • fruit
  • vegetables
  • herbs
  • preserves
  • cordials
  • sour dough starter
The list goes on...
