Act for the Birds

Untitled-2

As residents near wonderful creeks and their wildlife, you may be interested to find out how some rodent baits can impact other animals (particularly frogmouths and owls but also magpies, kookaburras etc) and what are safer alternatives.

And if you choose the safer alternatives, there is even a poster to download and display to spread the word to Act for the Birds 🙂

Lost chickens!

Stray chooks

These two chickens have found their way into our backyard. Are they yours? Or do you know someone who has lost chickens?

We have a temporary coop for them but don't want to keep them, so if we can't find their owners they will be looking for new homes. Are you interested? They seem like nice chickens.

More Wonderful

Untitled-2

Hi.

I know a few people have seen an echidna recently near Edgar's Creek, and now I have too!! It was around 1.30 in the afternoon, just north of the walking/bike track. So, just another reminder to be very aware of dogs off leash in this area. My pooch is usually off his lead, but I will be vigilant watching him now, and he will DEFINITELY be leashed around that area.

Let's hope s/he lives a happy long life in our neighbourhood.

Wonderful

Untitled-2

We saw this cute little guy happily fossicking down near the Ronald street footbridge waterfall on Edgar’s creek last week.
Great news for ecology of the area!
Just a reminder to stay vigilant with dogs...
