Really Really Fun Night

Each table will be a team working towards winning something fine. Points will be scored from musical trivia, dancing competitions, flower arranging and best dressed outfits.

Organising the social event of the year!
Nancy Bangles and DJ Eddy are hosting an evening of singing, dancing, games, musical trivia and jocularity in a 'prohibition' themed venue.
Dress to impress, bring a tea set for your drinks and prepare for a really really fun night.

Global Climate Strike Event
Free soup and a warm space to welcome all to a Global Climate strike organising event on Monday 19th August at Brunswick Uniting Church garden room.
212 Sydney Road, at 6pm- 7.30pm; free soup, tea, music and perhaps even cake! Organised by Luke Byrnes and Amelia Swan.
The session will involve distributing publicity material, brainstorming other publicity events/ideas and planning banner painting sessions.
The school strikers are aiming to see 300,000 on the streets from 2pm-4pm on September 20th to embody concern for ever increasing fossil fuel emissions in Australia to put pressure on the government to act.
As Greta says “Don't hope; panic and then act”.

Boys in our Anchors and Juniors (primary school age) program will be learning some basic first aid skills, along with basic cooking skills and kitchen safety.
The boys in our seniors program (secondary school age) are building their very own board game.
Special nights glow in the dark games August 16th.
AFL Grand Final Footy Night Sept 20th.
Thursday nights from 7pm, 21 Beatty St, Reservoir.

Writing on the Wall
Dear Friends,
I’m very excited to be launching Writing on the Wall - an experiment in poetry-let social activism. I have collaborated with the Sydney organisation Anti Slavery Australia by donating my modern epic poem Writing on the Wall as a fundraiser. We have booked the Dax Centre at Melbourne Uni but need 40 tickets (prices on a sliding scale) sold to proceed. Entry includes wine and nibbles, a copy of the chapbook and the poetry reading. I do hope you can make it. All proceeds are donated to ASA.

Noted actor and comedian Rod Quantock will re-enact Daniel Mannix's historic speech 100 years on, in the same hall.
On the afternoon of 28 January 1917, the charismatic Bishop Mannix for the first time publicly criticised World War One as a "trade war", in a speech at St Ambrose Hall for the opening of a new school.
Rod will be introduced by historian Dr Val Noone, whose main field of research is Australia's Irish Catholic history. There will be time for audience questions and comments. MC will be Frances Newell.
The afternoon begins with a performance of Stephen Taberner's new song "Ghosts Don't Lie", presented by the Serenading Adela Choir, directed by Jeannie Marsh, featuring soloist Lisa-Marie Parker and accordionist Dave Evans (from The Band Who Knew Too Much).

Cane Toads: The Conquest explores the history, the science, the human conflict and the bizarre culture surrounding this notorious environmental blunder.
