Tuesday 19 September 6-8pm.

It will be followed by a panel discussion with David Alenson, John Burgess, Felicity Collins and Alan Hardy.

The film screened in Britain and elsewhere in the 1970s but a combination of political and commercial pressure conspired to prevent its broadcast in Australia. After being programmed on the ABC at the time, it was cancelled, though Frank Hardy eventually took the film to Kalkarindji & Daguragu where it was screened for the community.

Genepool Productions is looking for a Melbourne based family who take regular vitamin supplements.

We would like to film with you for approximately one day between the 16th and 30th of October.

You would be playing a key role in an international feature-length documentary that will help people understand the remarkable science and history of vitamins. 

Our film will be broadcast on SBS in early 2018.

My Life as a Courgette

Hi all!

A not-for-profit association that I support (French Bilingual Association) is organising a special screening of My Life as a Courgette at the Cinema Nova (Carlton) on Saturday 17 June at 2pm. 

The film is in French with English subtitles and is recommended for all ages (suitable from 7+). 

My Life As A Courgette is a stop-motion film by Swiss director Claude Barras. It was acclaimed in Cannes last year, crowned best film at the Annecy festival, pocketed the Césars for the best animated film and the best adaptation and even nominated for the Oscars. 

It's a rare opportunity not to be missed to see it on the big screen! Tickets can be purchased here and there's even an option for French afternoon tea

Australia’s largest and longest-running film festival curated especially for kids aged 2 to 12, Little Big Shots runs for 5 days from the Gala Launch on Thursday 8 June to Monday 12 June across the Queen's B'day Long W'end. 

The festival is designed to entertain young minds and inspire future filmmakers, featuring a selection of the best local and international films, made both for kids, and by kids.

Spanning animation, live-action and documentary titles, the Little Big Shots 2017 program features over 80 films, with 24 films made by child filmmakers and 27 films made by Australian filmmakers. This year also features 10 world premieres and over 40 Australian premieres. To bring the very best in film for kids to the festival, titles are also sourced from 20 different countries, which this year includes films from; Jordan, Taiwan, Norway, Japan, Hungary, USA, UK, Korea and many more, as well as a special focus in 2017 on films made by women and girls from around the world.

5 May: October was made in the USSR in 1927. Silent with music by Shostakovich and celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Bolshevik revolution. 

12 May: Phantom of the Opera (1925) is also silent and was directed by Rupert Julian for Universal and it has early 2 strip technicolor inserts. 

19 May: Jedda (1954) was the first all Australian colour feature film, directed by pioneer Australian director, Charles Chauvel  and touches on the issue of stolen Indigenous Australian children. 

26 May: Walk into Paradise (1956) is a "jungle" adventure made in the then Australian colony of Papua directed by and starring Chips Rafferty, and is an Australian/French co production.
