Friday Night BBQ's are Back!

This how it works:

If you feel like hanging out in the park with some friendly locals come down to Cox Reserve (on Elizabeth St) anytime on a Friday evening.

Chances are there will be a couple of families having dinner and enjoying themselves.

It is not an organised affair but generally there are between 2 and 20 families that head down to the park......

Bring everything that you will need and see how the evening unfolds.

Friday Night BBQ's are back!!

Every Friday evening during daylight savings you will probably find a few local families welcoming in the weekend with a BBQ in Cox Reserve.

Some of us use the electric BBQ's to make dinner, others bring dinner and other folks just come for the company.

People arrive when it suits, generally from 6.00 and stay until it's time to head home....

We have been meeting in the park on Friday evenings for around 6 or 7 years and it's become a real tradition.

Everyone is welcome to join whomsoever may be there!

Our annual celebration of community and daylight savings is beginning this coming Friday!!!

Every Friday evening for the duration of daylight savings Cox Reserve will be hosting community BBQ's. 

Everyone is welcome.

It is very low key and a really fabulous way to welcome the weekend.

Bring everything you will need.

Arrive when it suits you!

There is generally always a group of locals in the park on a Friday evening, sometimes there's lots, other times only a few. 

Toileting facilities are provided by the closest local family.

Alli Coster at Moreland City Council just emailed me with the following:

I have just received info from Jemena - the BBQ at Cox Reserve will not have power on Friday 8 Feb from 8:30am – 4:00pm.

Xmas Eve in the Park!

Hello Lovely Locals.
Just a little reminder that we have a special Christmas Eve evening in the park.
It is very much like our Friday night BBQ event and not particularly Christmassy.
Bring along kids/foods/drinks and enjoy the company of other locals.
Sometimes someone brings a guitar and we sing a few songs........
Monday December 24 from 6ish Cox Reserve.

Friday Night BBQ's are Back!

Hi Everyone.
Now that daylight savings is upon us, Friday Night BBQ's in the park are back.
Our family is very excited at the prospect of catching up with you lovely folks on Friday evenings!
For the last couple of years we have been having the BBQ's and they are a very lovely way to bring in the weekend.
All you need to bring is your own food/drinks/kids/family. Turn up when you are ready, wander home when you feel the need to.
There is always someone in the park to chat to, quite a few of us live opposite the park and have the gate open for use of the amenities.
There is no real starting time but most of us are there by 6.......
