The Outdoor pool season officially launches from 1 Dec ‍

Active Merri-bek outdoor pool season is officially open, and we are so excited to see you back at the pool.

Remember during school term our pools are only open if it's warm enough - If it’s 23°C, and over Coburg Olympic Swimming Pool & Pascoe Vale Outdoor Pool will be OPEN.

Following community feedback we are trialling early morning swimming at 3 seasonal outdoor pools!

Heritage Swims: Wednesdays, 6–8am (even if it's cold!)

COBURG OLYMPIC SWIMMING POOL

Icebergs Early Swims: Tues & Thurs, 6–8am (even if it's cold!)

FAWKNER LEISURE CENTRE

Early Laps & Aqua: Mon–Fri, 6–9am (even if its cold)

Open. Every afternoon (even if its cold)

Brunswick Baths and Oak Park Sports & Aquatic Centre Pools every day for morning lap swimming as well.

Hello, Pool Lovers,

Following an email to Moreland council I received a  phone call from a nice man called Jarrod who said that they are hoping to fast track the opening of the pool to 9th November. And possibly even a little earlier depending on restrictions and all. 

Great news!

Support to open Olympic Pool earlier!

Our family would love to add our voice to support an earlier opening of the Olympic Pool - maybe there could even be outdoor fitness classes held there given the Active Moreland gyms have been closed for ages and I don't expect they'll be reopening in a hurry. If anyone has the best contact at Moreland Council can you please post details!

Hello, Newlands ers.

Inspired by Jo Roberts great idea, I have emailed Moreland Council asking if we can get  the Olympic pool opened early this season. Maybe other people are also interested and would also email? Maybe if they get enough requests it could happen. Otherwise it's going to be a long wait for an outdoor swim!  See you at the pool!

Lap Swimming!

This morning I got to the pool at 8am for some lap swimming and it was BEAUTIFUL!! For about 20 minutes I had the pool to MYSELF!!

The Coburg Outdoor Olympic Pool is open for laps on Monday's, Wednesday's & Friday's from 6am-9am during the summer. A wonderful way to start the day!

Hi Newlanders.

Just wanting to share that the Coburg Olympic Pool has new increased opening hours and it looks very lovely at the moment, new tiles, clean water!

It's even got early openers! 6am-9 am Monday/Wednesday/Friday - which can roll into pool being open from 9am if it's hot!

Very very pleasant!

just a reminder that the coburg olympic pool is open for the season ! there is a lovely new manager with loads of ideas....and maybe open to suggestions. they are having swimming lessons in January and I will post details when she sends them to me.
She is also talking about having an end of school term pool party and is hoping that Moreland Council will let them have a movie night.

Coburg Olympic Swimming Pool Survey

Apologies for the duplication if you already have this but I wanted to let people know that Coburg Olympic Swimming Pool have launched a survey about our pool on their Facebook page. It's a great chance for pool users to voice their opinions about what they like and don't like about our wonderful local pool. I also couldn't help adding a comment to the actual Facebook post. I've had some issues with opening hours and the inconsistent promotion of opening hours over the last week or so and although I hope that these issues may have been resolved, I don't think it hurts to voice what is important to you.

My name is Samantha and I am organising the School Holiday Swimming Program in Moreland.

The swimming program will run for one week only from Monday the 20th of January to Friday the 24th of January inclusive - so 5, 30 minute lessons.

The program will be run at Coburg Olympic Swimming Pool as well as the Oak Park Aquatic Centre.

The cost will be $50 per child, with classes available from infants through to school age (classes will be grouped according to age and ability). 

All bookings or inquiries need to be sent to me at Samantha.anderson@ymca.org.au

 Once bookings are made times and classes will be finalised - all depends on the demand.
