Stolen

Untitled-2

Our poor excuse for a letter box was stolen on Tuesday night, probably just for someones idea of fun (so much fun!) ....I'm pretty sure I didn't misplace it absent mindedly....

If you see him (he's called Tony) lying around, he's greyish metal with the number 32 on it in gold lettering. We're on Outlook rd. Call me on 0411 987 264 if you do please.

Reward may include such things as zucchini, basil or chutney etc.

Jason.

Stolen Car

Untitled-2

Car stolen in McNamara Street, West Preston.

My old 1991 Subaru Liberty GX station wagon was stolen a week ago (last Monday night, August 26) from where it was parked on the street outside 58 McNamara Street.  It is usually safely parked in my driveway or garage in Jackson Parade, but, as luck would have it, it was over-nighting with family in McNamara Street.

The accompanying pictures are not of my actual car; they are of one for sale on the web and I have taken the liberty of downloading the photos as I have no photos of my own. My car too is white and only slightly different: the hub caps and the driver’s wing mirror are white, otherwise it is the same.

The registration number is NFT 579. If you see it, please, please let me know on 0402 123 881.

The police have been very helpful and suggest that it may turn up abandoned somewhere when the petrol runs out (the tank was full so that could be some time yet!). I hope so. It has been a great car and I would dearly love to have it back, though I dread what condition it may be in by then.

According to the police, I did everything wrong and it was probably easy to steal, especially being an old car. If you too have an old car or leave it in the street, the following advice from the police may be helpful. Store your vehicle off the street at night in a locked garage, or on a driveway with another vehicle parked behind it. If it has no anti-theft device, install something such as an engine immobiliser, steering wheel lock or alarm.

Good luck anyway, and, again, if you see my dear old Subaru, please let me know.

GD.

Stolen Bike

Untitled-2

Spot the stolen bike!

Unfortunately my bike got stolen Thursday 9th of May at Preston train station between 10:10 am and about 1:30 pm.
Looks like this with the battery at the back, 1 black pannier and a very daggy nursery plastic tray attached to the rack with bright orange ties.
Being one of the electric bike from the MELF bulk buy in 2012 there were about 50 sold in the northern suburbs, that's it.
So not that common; if you spot one, it is likely mine! Leave message here or contact Police, they have frame and motor numbers.

The most annoying thing is that who ever took it won't find a charger for it.
I know that because it is only by sheer luck that I managed to replace it once. Can't neither be used or sold. And I would hate to see it dumped in one of our lovely creeks or parkland.
Besides, as I do not have a car, I'd like it back.
Thank you.

Stolen Bike

Untitled-2

My push bike got stolen from my house Bruce St West Preston on Wednesday the 10th of April between 4.15-4.45. I lent it against the wall unlocked (mmmm) well into my property, about 10 meters up a side path so only visible if making an effort to look. I had my eyes off it for about 20 minutes.

Very big downer it’s my only transportation.... anyway it’s a matt grey, Giant commuter/mountain hybrid 2011 model I think, no badges, disc breaks and has front and rear rechargeable removable lights, seat is very ripped up and it has a little drawing of tattoo style on the top tube/bar. Handle bars are black with black grips and the combination lock and bell on left.... can’t do much but if any one sees it I’d appreciate it back.

🙏🏼 Kind regards, Tama.

Theft

Untitled-2

Coburg High School Bike Theft.

Just a heads up and hopefully some help, my son's bike was stolen from Coburg High School yesterday.  It was locked up with a medium duty bike lock which was cut with bolt cutters so obviously someone was out there looking for bikes to steal.

The bike was a Giant Boulder 2017 Black. If anyone happens to see one for sale anytime soon, please give me a shout.

Thanks,
David.

Stolen Bike

Untitled-2

Hi Newlands,

Saturday I left my bike, a silver Shogun Womens bike with a rack on the back chained up outside Coburg Hill Woolworths close to the traffic lights. It wasn’t there the next day, nothing left behind. It has some recognisable stickers on it, RRR and a couple of political ones. Has anyone seen it dumped anywhere?

If you find it, please contact Kirsty 0431 609 586.

Theft Warning

Untitled-2

Just wanted to share that yesterday we had tracked packages taken from our mailbox and a delivery of food stolen from our front door on Outlook Rd sometime between 1:00-3:00pm.  We wanted to encourage others to be aware and maybe to let neighbours know if you see anything suspicious as there seems to be some unsavory activity going on.

Stolen

Untitled-2

Dear Newlands Community,

Last night at around 7pm, in the 4 ½ minutes it took for me to bring in a box of groceries, my car was wiped clean of some of my valuables, luckily the sleeping babe (also in the car) remained unwoken and unharmed. The stuff is essentially worthless to another and I imagine that most of it will be dumped.

The stuff that was taken was all in bags:

-IN A CHINA BOOKS LABELED /DEEP DARK GREEN CLOTH BAG (similar to a green shopping bag in size and shape) my beloved Senhiser ear phones, 2 computers (a silver 2009? 15” MacBook pro) in a distinctive brown padded purpose made shoulder bag with a stain badge on the strap, my 17 year old g4 MacBook in a pho leather black bag (embarrassingly with my name engraved on the front), my two hard drives (the size of bricks – one is a  black seagate and the other silver (I can’t remember the brand) , both require ac power to run and each contains the entire contents of my electronic creative life for the past 10-12 years (every photo, every show, every song, every sound) also a book with the babes scans in it.

-A black baby carrier.

-IN A RED/ORANGE COLOURED LARGE LACROSTE BAG - an evening strapless navy blue sequin, chiffon lined floor length dress, make up bag, black leggings.

-IN A CALICO BAG THAT HAS THE PRINT (IRONICALLY) ‘DON’T TOUCH MY STUFF, OR MY FACE OR MY HAIR’ - has a pink A4 drawing book, my 2017 date diary, a whole heap of odd small baby toys (a coloured wooden worm, a pirate rattle, a baby blanket), clothes and nappies, my purse (white with a colour butterfly that has all my ID in it so identifiable if found), and my iPhone.

This happened in the driveway of a fully attended home in Claremont St. North Coburg.

Stolen

Untitled-2

Have you seen this van? It was stolen from our carpark over the Easter weekend. It's a fabulous ex-ambulance that we had lovingly converted into a Mobile Energy Classroom. We use it to travel all over the countryside, connecting with kids and schools and teaching them about all things energy-related... It is filled with irreplaceable teaching resources that we have gathered over decades and we'd really love to get it back. Please contact us (or Brunswick Police) if you have seen it or have any information relating to it's whereabouts.

Stolen

Untitled-2

My child's balance bike was stolen from our front porch in Grey Court last week. We found the helmet (which was with the bike) dumped in the front garden of a house nearby.

If you've seen anyone mucking around with a small red balance bike (see photo), or you have noticed it dumped anywhere, we'd be very grateful to hear from you. It has great sentimental value for us, being my daughter's first bike.

Many thanks,
Sophie.

Stolen

Untitled-2

Hi Newlanders

Someone stole our car from our front yard in George St, Preston on Thursday morning - 6.30am. We suspect that they came into the house when I left to take the dog for a walk - leaving the door unlocked and Phil my partner inside - and helped themselves to the key. They then waited for Phil to leave for work before stealing the car. At 6.34am the car was driven past me on Benambra St while I was on my walk.

On the off chance it's still in the area, or anyone saw it on that morning, it is a dark grey Honda Civic Hatch - registration 1BD-5FZ with 3 bike carriers on the roof. Image below.
