Festive Food Drive

Untitled-2

Now's the time to start your Festive Food Drive!

As we head into the Festive season this year our minds go to celebrations and that nearly always involve food! It’s food that brings us together as families, as friends and as communities. This year our Foodbank is collecting the Twelve Foods of Christmas and we would love your support by running a Festive Food Drive at work, at school, at your church, in your local street.

Let’s make food fair for everyone this festive season. And show your compassion in action for people seeking asylum.

In the comments below you’ll find our 12 most needed items of food to collect for your Festive Food Drive. Over 600 people seeking asylum who are being provided with food each week say Thank you!

Deliveries are welcome to our Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) weekdays from 10-5 and Wednesday until 7pm. Please delivery before Friday 22 December as we will be closing Frim midday until January 10. See you at 218 Nicholson St, Footscray soon 😍

Fruit Squad

Hi there folks,

We have a squad of volunteers currently available to harvest back yard fruit trees in Darebin and we would love your support to get the word out about the project.  We are currently looking for householders to register their trees so that we can pick them and give the fruit to agencies providing food for food insecure people.  To date we have picked almost a tonne of fruit, but we know there is a lot more out there!

If you know anyone in Darebin with excess fruit please pass this leaflet on.  If you could help us by circulating the attached flier we would be most grateful.  Also we are seeking a few more volunteers to join the Fruit Squad mainly to work on harvesting fruit, we don’t have a formal training course available this time round but monthly in-house training sessions will be made available.

For more information contact liz at Jika Jika Community Centre tel: 9482 5100 or e-mail liz@jikajika.org.au.

Thank you for your interest in this project.

Regards,

Rachel Carlisle

The Growing Food Project

Untitled-2

Dear friends & colleagues,

We believe that positive stories inspire positive change. The Growing Food Project film tells the inspiring story of Melbourne's urban agriculture movement and how communities are responding to our current broken food system.

Changing our broken food system won't happen without you, and neither will The Growing Food Project. We need your support!

We only have 14 days to go and another $2525 to reach our $5000 target on Pozible. Every single pledge is a small step towards finishing this short film. The film showcases examples of people already building a better food system.  Let's bring this film to life and help build a better food system for everyone.

Please share this email with your friends and family, and make your contribution to The Growing Food Project here

On behalf of the crew, THANK YOU!

Best wishes,
Rasha Tayeh
