Friendly Reminder

Untitled-2

Dear, Newlanders,

Some of you cat owners may or may not be aware of the laws around cat ownership and responsibility in the Darebin & Merri-bek areas. We have creeks which are vital wildlife corridors, home to many native species, some returning due to the good work of FoMC, FoEC and other grassroots organisations.

Darebin brought in to law a 7pm-7am cat curfew on Jan 1st 2021.

Cat Rehoming

Untitled-2

With a heavy heart and much thought, we have to admit that our beloved cat is simply not happy living with us, and needs a new home.

Luna, aka Madame Fluff, is approximately 6 years old, desexed, quirky, playful, affectionate, and something of a shoe fetishist. She's quickly and effectively relieved us of pantry mice.

Luna needs a home where she is the only animal (this is where our household fails her), and is not tolerant of preschool children. She's quite independent, and is happy for some outdoor time, but really prefers to mooch about indoors.

Please let us know if you might be here new people, I'd be so happy if she found a home in our community.

Cats and Vets

Untitled-2

Hi all,

I have a couple of questions - both cat related.

1. Does anyone remember seeing a 'lost cat recently about a lost white and black cat?  I know I saw something and feeling sad someone had lost their pet and now I keep seeing a white and black cat near my place in Ronald St and wondering if it might be someone's missing pet.

2.  Any recommendations for a good local vet for my 2 cats?  They used to go to East Brunswick but since I've moved to Newlands that's a bit far away.

Thanks,

Stella.

Cat?

Untitled-2

Hi Neighbours,

There is a grey tabby cat that hangs around on Elizabeth St between Hope and Eric Sts, he is not desexed and hangs around in our back yard most of every day and night and if he gets into our house he sprays. He used to wear a collar with tags but he hasn't had it on for quite a while and he is getting really thin. Does anyone own him? It seems he may have been abandoned (maybe due to the spraying issue).

If you know anything about him could you please call 0414 535 398.

Thanks,
Anna.

Cat

Untitled-2

Hi Newlanders, we have returned from holidays to find a dead cat on our nature strip. Someone has left a note with the cat. Sorry if this is your cat, but we thought you would like to know where it is so you can say goodbye. It's grey with black stripes, looks quite young still. It's on the the southern side of Murray Road between the two ends of Connelly Ave.

Grey Tabby Cat Sightings

Untitled-2

We've been having frequent visits from a grey striped tabby cat recently.
(Hope st, Preston).
It's wearing a colour (red I think) and has a microchip tag.
So far we've been unable to get close enough to get it in a cage and take it to the vet for identification. In the meantime I thought I'd put the word out in case someone is desperately missing their cat.
It's looking pretty skinny and lost. Have been giving it a bite to eat in the nighttimes, since it obviously belongs to somebody.
Is this your cat? Or perhaps a neighbours? Please drop me a line: kellyredfalling@gmail.com

She is a lovely fluffy mongrel and is about three years old.
She is up to date with all her shots and comes with a years supply of food.
She needs a home for two years but if it turns out that you fall in love with her then you could probably keep her.
She is great with kids and needs a home by the 17th of December.
Please call Sal on 0416 351 106 if you are interested.
