Support Local Creatives!

Untitled-2

Hi, Newlands Community.

Some of our finest local creatives are working on a project that currently needs some financial support.

The project is called Giving Voice to Menopause and it involves a film. The film features eight women talking about their experiences of aging and perimenopause/menopause.

The film is really a catalyst for conversations between women about their experiences and to bring the topic of menopause into the public sphere where we hope the film will encourage story sharing.

We are in the post-production stage of the film and need to raise funds to get the film finished and across the line and put on a launch.

Below is a link to the Pozible campaign where you can find out more about the project and pledge a donation if you so wish. You don't have to pay the money upfront, this happens if our target is reached at the end of the campaign.

You can choose to donate a random amount, or you can choose a reward.

Here's the link - which also features a few snippets from the film.

Feminista Vinyl Pozible Campaign

Untitled-2

Hi lovely community.

The Feminista Vinyl team are still running our campaign, with the provision that we are postponing our launch until it is safe to do so.

We still have this week to go, so are open to accepting pledges until April 4th. The amazing thing is we have reached our target thanks to those who have pledged so far. Thank you!!

So now we have set a stretch target, with extra funds being dedicated to purchasing stock from some of the smaller local Indi labels that are struggling right now.

Please consider pledging any amount you can, no matter how small. We are so looking forward to celebrating with all our supporters when this is all over.

Preorder cd, Vinyl or launch tickets!

Album release 14th Feb 2020

I am so happy to be this close to the release of my album!

Two years ago I went to New Zealand to record with producer Ben Edwards, who, for my genre, is one of the best producers in the world- recording people like Aldous Harding, Marlon Williams and  Julia Jacklin. I was so overjoyed to be invited to work with him And I am so proud of this album. A lot has happened between then and now (the birth of by beautiful 5th daughter Grace!)
and now I have the chance to share this music with everyone!

I'm doing a short intensive POZIBLE  campaign to get this record across the line- I am so close! You can simply pre- order a ticket to the launch on the 23rd of Feb at Howler, a CD or Vinyl, OR there are a collection of other 'rewards' in there too.

PLEDGE NOW

Being an independent artist, your support means the world, if you would be able to help me share this over the next couple of weeks it would be so wonderful. The campaign goes until the 29th of November and if I don't reach my target, it doesn't happen.

I'm also releasing a few singles in the lead up, and would love to see you at my single launch this month as well! I'll be performing with some incredible band members and have Georgia Knight opening and the East Coast Darlings as well. It shall be a wonderful night!!  (Link to ticket via poster)

MEDIA RELEASE

S E C R E T O S     D E    L A    R A I Z    /// Secrets of the Roots \\\

POZIBLE CAMPAIGN  open now!

(until 10th February 2018)

Looking for supporters to fund the creation and performance of this inspiring, authentic multidimensional  and immersive cultural dance performance

Hola!  My name is Kathleen Gonzalez, and I am a professional dancer and choreographer.

I am launching this Pozible campaign to help fund the development and performance of an original dance piece named ‘Secretos de la Raiz’, or in English, (Secrets of the Roots) to be performed in Melbourne in March 2018.

Secretos de la Raiz is an experimental, multi-cultural contemporary dance performance that explores concepts of ancestral knowledge, cultural exchange, and the role of authentic ritual within communities.

As choreographer and artistic director, I will bring seven dancers from diverse cultural backgrounds together to explore the spiritual and physical connections with Mother Earth that are shared across cultures, continents and generations. (The artist’s heritage ranges from: Iran, Indigenous Australia, Japan, Zimbabwe/Italy, Africa, Colombia, Nortn America and Mexico)

To give you an idea of the beauty, power and possibility of this performance outcome, HERE is a clip from a previous work, created with the beginnings of the Secretos de la Raiz concept in mind.

By working collaboratively with the dancers and artists, I will develop a dance piece that incorporates individual, collective and culturally inherited movement concepts and will create a performance experience that invites the audience to participate in a contemporary community ritual experience.

The funds raised in this campaign will assist with covering the costs of studio space for a 10 week development period in early 2018, and contribute towards the costs of the performance of the finished piece in Melbourne, in March 2018.

I am passionate about this project for many reasons, but these two in particular:

I.        I believe that in today’s political and social environment, creating meaningful connections and opportunities for cultural exchange are more important than ever.  By connecting artists and audiences from a range of backgrounds, to explore shared cultural values, I believe we can encourage and unite communities to inspire growth and positive transformation.
II.        I am passionate about the role of the arts in our community, the potential to create opportunities for meaningful and authentic dialogue, and the value and responsibility of my work as an artist.  My aim as a professional artist is to contribute positively to the Australian arts sector and wider community, with the production of high-quality, innovative and experimental, independent art, and the provision of creative employment opportunities for myself, and for other artists.

I really believe this project is worth supporting, and when you contribute, in addition to the satisfaction of knowing that you are supporting independent arts and artists, you can choose from a range of rewards and that allow you to personally connect with the project in a way that interests and inspires you.

Every generous contribution is much appreciated.  Please pledge now and support us in realizing this exciting project to it’s full potential!

Tsuno

Untitled-2

My name is Roz Campbell, a Melbourne designer and social entrepreneur.
I have just launched my social enterprise Tsuno, which will sell disposable, sustainable, socially conscious bamboo fibre sanitary pads, to women in Australia, and donate 50% of profits to charities working in international women's development.
I have spent 12 months designing, researching, planning, sourcing and organising logistics to get this business ready, and now it is! I have decided the best way to launch is via Australian crowd funding platform Pozible (www.pozible.com/tsuno). I am aiming to raise $40 000 to cover the costs of manufacturing, shipping and distribution for the first bulk order. It's a large sum, but I'm confident that the women of Australia will embrace this product and I'll have a strong customer base from word go. (It's only 2000 women pre-ordering $20 worth of pads when I break it down!).
I have made a short video I will share with you which tells the story
I have the International Women's Development Agency (www.iwda.org.au) on board as the first charity to receive donations once the business is generating profit.
I have written today because although the campaign is going well, I need to spread the word as far as possible to ensure it will be successful.
Kind Regards,
Roz Campbell
