Rental Survey

Untitled-2

The University of Melbourne has partnered with Tenants Victoria to gain a better understanding of racism in the renting sphere. ‘Our aim is to drive policy and work towards practical reforms,’ says Healthy Housing researcher Erika Martino. Tenants Victoria’s Farah Farouque added: ‘This partnership builds on project work we’ve already done and takes it to the next level.’

Have you been a #renter in the last 5 years and think you have been treated badly or unfairly in rental housing due to your racial background? @healthyhousingCRE and @Tenantsvic invite you to complete a short survey here about your rental housing experience in Australia.

Renting Survey

Untitled-2

Exciting news: Applications for Better Renting's Summer Renter Researchers 2024 are opening this Friday, 6 October!

This summer, Better Renting will continue their mission to record temperatures in sweltering Australian rental homes, highlighting the direct effects of substandard, inefficient housing on renters' health and wellbeing.

Renter Researchers is a citizen science project that puts temperature trackers into the homes of renters across Australia. We’re recruiting for new renters to join our Renter Researchers 2023 project.

Over the past three years, national conversations about minimum standards for rental homes have shifted significantly. Through the promotion of compelling renter stories, backed by hard data, Better Renting has gained extensive media coverage—over 150 stories across print, online, radio, and TV news outlets from both their summer and winter Renter Researcher projects. Renter Researchers sent over 30 MP letters in the last project alone. However, there is still much work to be done.

The urgency of this Summer Renter Researchers project cannot be overstated. Temperatures are predicted to hit record highs this year and this will be the last Renter Researcher project before the next federal election. There is a window of opportunity to generate as much impactful data and media attention as possible. Every new participant will create more opportunities for media, MP letters, and advocacy around minimum energy efficiency standards.

Here’s a useful guide to help make this easy for you

Share this donation link to help fund Renter Researchers’ participation in the project

Sign up as a Renter Researcher if you’re a renter!

Applications close Friday 27 October.

You can find more information and apply on the Better Renting website. If you have any questions or if you want to know more about sponsoring Renter Researchers, please get in touch.

Walking Survey

Untitled-2

Hi Newlands Folks - I have responded to this survey to highlight the need for improved pedestrian crossing on Bell Street over the Merri Creek.
You may like to fill in this survey for this or highlight other issues important to you
Kind regards,
Cath.

Hello Everyone,

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a member and supporter of Victoria Walks. I’m hoping that you might spare 10 minutes of your time and complete the Victoria Walks annual survey. You might circulate to family, friends and other connections, as well.

With support from a range of local councils and other stakeholders, the Victorian Walking Survey aims to capture a sense of whether our streets, parks and suburbs are working to provide options to keep active in your daily life.

The 10-minute survey will be open from 17 November to 15 December 2021. It asks what you think about walking in your area. Victoria Walks will use the results to understand things that are working and those that aren’t, and to put the case for action to make our towns and suburbs easier, safer and more pleasant to walk in.

Regardless of how much you walk, your thoughts and experiences are valuable. I can assure you the information collated from the responses goes towards Victoria Walks developing an action plan for improving walking in Victoria and lobbying both State and local governments to adopt and fund the recommendations from the survey.

Complete the Victorian Walking Survey here.

Survey

Hello,

I'm a researcher from the University of Melbourne working on a project that examines the local use of cemeteries. We're focusing on the Coburg Cemetery and have put together a short questionnaire.

It's very short (will only take about 5 minutes to fill out). Our primary goal is to gauge how people use Coburg Cemetery as a recreational space—something that I think has become increasingly important during the stage four local lockdowns.

The link to the survey is questionnaire if you'd like to have a look: https://forms.gle/mjfSrDQ6c25LDzuR8

HAVE YOUR SAY ON ENVIRONMENTAL VOLUNTEERING
Help shape the future direction of environmental volunteering programs in Victoria

Victoria’s environment doesn’t thrive on its own. Our native plants and animals need every chance to adapt and survive in a changing climate.

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning is working with agencies, businesses, and the community to stop the decline of our native plants and animals. We encourage every Victorian to value and to connect with nature, to ensure that our natural environment is healthy and actively cared for.

We would like to hear from everyone who is contributing to this goal, or has ideas to increase participation in environmental volunteering.

If you already volunteer, we want to better understand your motivations, as well as the challenges you face.

If you have never or rarely volunteered, help us better understand the barriers that have limited your participation, or prevent you from volunteering.

To help us collect the data, we are also asking that you forward and share this survey with friends, family, colleagues and other volunteering or environmental contacts. The feedback and ideas you share will help shape support for environmental volunteering in Victoria.

The online survey takes about 10 minutes to complete.

The survey closes Tuesday 19 June 2018.

Hi everyone I'm a local who's currently moonlighting in Tassie for a year,:)

It only takes 15mins to complete and you have to be over 18 years and living in Australia to participate.

So if you have a spare moment to take part in this valuable research that would be awesome! if not no probs you are still awesome ;)

Any queries or feedback please email me on pages10@hotmail.com
