Merri-bek Ballerrt Mooroop Planting Day - with Uncle Andrew Gardiner, Uncle Bill Nicholson, Narrap Rangers and others

Address: Ballerrt Mooroop site – 208A Hilton St, Glenroy

Planting native plants and significant marker trees.

Guided walk of the site to explore potential future paths and ceremonial sites, community buildings and educational landscape opportunities and design proposals.

With Merri-bek Council and led by Uncle Andrew Gardiner, Uncle Bill Nicholson, Narrap Rangers and staff from the University of Melbourne’s Landscape Architecture Program.

Gloves and tools provided, light lunch supplied.

Hi FoEC'ers and friends,

It was just a few weeks ago that we were planting and we are at it again.

We have a Moreland City Council sponsored event this time around which is why we are not at our usual FoEC third Sunday of the month. The time is also a lot earlier too...

Merri Creek Planting

Hello fellow planters!

 This is Friends of Coburg Lake and Surrounds first and possibly only planting along the Merri Creek this year (except for a planting session with Lake Park Kinder), so please come along if you can make it.  Details are:

-          10 am  - 12 noon, Sunday 9 August (this Sunday)

-         Planting is just north of the Carr Street Bridge on the Merri Creek, down from the Scout Hall and Lake Park Kinder, Coburg North.

 This planting is kindly sponsored by Moreland Council and Council staff will be in attendance on the day.

 Look forward to seeing you there.

Planting Invitation

This weekend the annual big planting is happening in Rainbow in the Wimmera.

One of my mates has had to pull out so it would be great if we had another to take her place.

We'll drive up Friday, share a motel in Rainbow (oops, too lazy to camp this time), food provided, buses to the planting site... its huge... and come back Sunday.

The journey should allow for a spot of op-shopping on the way.

Generally there's about 250 volunteers - many with links to Victorian National Parks Association. An interesting bunch of people.

Its an all ages gig, with scope for various jobs at the planting site to suit most fitness levels.

 Here is yet another extra planting that wasn’t on our original calendar.  But this one isn’t even in the May issue of Merri Growler!

This planting is at Egan Reserve Coburg, where I don’t recall working previously, but if we have, it was a long time ago.
