Climate Flags Project
Hi Newlanders.
We are having a Climate Flags community making event this Sunday (3rd March) 3.30-5pm at the Newlands Neighbourhood House (20 Murray Rd Coburg North): please come along, bring your kids and your neighbours!
The Climate Flags project is about creating messages to stimulate conversation, reflection and action on climate change.
This making session is an open invitation to the Newlands community and surrounds to decorate a flag. We will fly your flag with others at community events (e.g. Darebin Kite Festival) and protests such as the Climate Strike on March 15.
Evidence is in: we must act now for a safe climate. Climate Flags signal that it’s no longer business as usual.
This is a family-friendly event: both kids and adults are encouraged to make flags. Drop in briefly or stick around for a cuppa and conversation. We will also be discussing plans for how to meet up on the day of the Climate Strike.
Please RSVP on facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/events/329048991080824/ and share the event with other locals.
For more information on the project: www.climateflags.org or contact Nina (nina.roberts25@gmail.com)
