Coburg Open Circle

Coburg Open Circle is currently a men's circle, it will become a mixed-gender circle in the coming weeks.

The shift in the description reflects this. See below:

We acknowledge the traditional custodians past present and future.

Welcome to the Coburg Open Circle, a supportive and confidential space that cultivates self-development through open discussions, sharing and deep listening.

We celebrate diversity, offering an open space inclusive of all genders, races, sexualities, and religions and invite people to participate in whatever capacity is true for them.

We aim to create opportunities to connect, learn and strengthen the way we show up in the world by building deeper connections within ourselves, families, and community.

The circle is a supportive and dynamic space where you can explore parts of yourself with the support of others who are diving into their own journey too.

I’ve just put our chicken run out on the nature strip of 34 Boyne St. It's about 4.5m long and 1.3m high with a mesh lid (not shown in photo) and the bottom is mesh too (fully enclosed). Thought it might be useful to someone. Could be good for guinea pigs.

Arts and community updates

to share!

    Including:
    • Another New Sound Unwound episode with Motte
    • Sorcha Wilcox Exhibition opening this weekend
    • Summer studio lockouts available
    • Plant a Tree
Anita Clark (Motte) on New Sound Unwound
In this new instalment of New Sound Unwound we speak with Anita Clark, who performs ambient, modern classical sounds under the alias Motte.

We discuss the production of her soon to be released album “Cold and Liquid”, the loss of her voice, singing pets and more.

    Listen to the episode here
    Exhibition Opening:
    Sorcha Wilcox
Quantum Art Space: Event Potential in Practice
You're invited to the opening of Sorcha's final exhibition for her PhD investigation, Quantum Art Space: Event Potential in Practice, this Friday 18th October from 6-8pm in our Spatial Studio.

"to understand the project one needs to get into it, and cast their own shadow upon it, and this exhibition provides you with the opportunity to do just that."

The practice-led investigation finds the potential of visual material and attempts to re-consider the experience of making through the reflective (creative practice and speculative process) quantum theory. For example, the key quantum concepts, such as the frames of entanglement and formlessness, underpin this practice-led research and press us to think systematically. This has become paramount within the practice-led component of this PhD Project. The project uses quantum as an active participant that provides triggers to prompt ideas within the exchange between an art-work and the viewer and not as a fixed quantifiable moment.

This research examines where and how the fields of quantum, philosophy of event and visual arts, intersect and work together, offering a new quantum focus throughout the creative process by directly addressing and deploying the actualities of interactions between processes and events for creative ends.
    Plant A Tree
    for $3
There's no denying climate change, and we all have an immense responsibility to act now. Feeling guilty, anxious, powerless? So are we. But remember, no action is too little. We've decided to do our bit by providing the option to pay for the the planting of a tree via our website.

Keep an eye out for the option when you are next booking online, or Plant a Tree here
The next day of planting natives is scheduled December 2019, location TBC.
Questions, or interested in also volunteering to help? Feel free to get in touch here
