Local Neighbourhood Houses

Hi ,

Term 4 is just around the corner so we would like to introduce the new (and not so new) members of the team so you know who's who when we get back to the houses (fingers crossed, it won't be much longer).

Rachael Cilauro - NECCHi Manager

Hello! Rachael here. Here I am in my garden during stage 4 lock down (the broad beans are happy!).

What a wild ride 2020 has been.

I’ve been with Necchi for around 8 months I’ve enjoyed meeting some of you at both houses. Previous to NECCHi I’ve been a children’s librarian, events manager, cook, policy writer, games expert – to name a few jobs. I’m constantly learning and love to explore new ways to be in the world.

I see Neighbourhood houses as spaces that celebrate, grow, and support our community.

At NECCHi we love working in partnership with you, our community, to develop ideas, create programs, and share our skills. Everyone has something to offer!

We are using the time under COVID-19 restrictions to as an opportunity for growth and to learn to be happier, healthier, and strong community but we're looking forward to slowly reopening and seeing everyone's faces again.

In the meantime, we eat broad beans and enjoy the spring sunshine!

Jenell Quinsee - Outreach, Grants,
and Volunteer Coordinator

I am Jenell and my role at NECCHi is the Outreach, Grants and Volunteer Coordinator. My role at NECCHi is all about connection - I will be working directly with members of our community, working on our volunteer program and linking volunteers to opportunities in our community, linking NECCHi to like-minded partner organisations, developing programs/events, and connecting programs and events with grants that can fund them.

Human rights, equality, grassroots activism, and connecting community are really important to me -- so are music, dogs, nature and swiiiimmmming!

I'm excited to find out what people in our community would like to see happen at NECCHi.

Hannah Fallowfield - Administration Coordinator

I'm Hannah, the new Administration Coordinator at NECCHi, and I'm excited to bring to NECCHi the skills I have developed across many different roles.

When I'm not working at NECCHi, I'm working on my own live art and performance practice (I'm currently obsessed with food in performance!). I've got lots in the pipeline for 2021 that I'm excited to share with you all.

I live in a classic Brunswick share house (olive trees & lavender galore) and I'm growing broad beans, broccoli romanesco & cabbage in my veggie patch.

I am the new Excel spreadsheet ninja and I'm really excited to meet you when restrictions ease.

Libby Henstock - Programs and Marketing Coordinator

I'm Libby and I'm the new Programs and Marketing Coordinator. Like everyone at NECCHi, I've worn a lot of hats at different organisations - I'm looking forward to putting all this experience to good use at NECCHi.

I live in Newlands with my family and I feel so lucky to live near the Merri Creek and to enjoy the beauty and peace that it brings to our lives (so I'm very keen to help promote the health and biodiversity of the creek).

Like my talented colleagues, I'm passionate about social and climate justice and I'm looking forward to working together to support a healthy and connected community for our generation and the generations to come.

We are all looking forward to meeting you - be it via our online activities or when we can see you face-to-face again at the Newlands or East Coburg houses.
