Reconciliation Gathering - on the Merri Creek.  

National Reconciliation Week 2021.

Local Event Sunday 30th May - 10:30 am - 2:00 pm.   

The program includes Welcome (Tanderrum) from Wurundjeri Elders, the Djirri Djirri Dancers singing to Country, as well as talks.

This local Coburg site we gather on has a long history for Wurundjeri (pre-colonization) and their cultural practice has been rejuvenated over the short 13+ years, Wurundjeri have been celebrating/sharing a deeper relationship of place with the local community. We gather with a deep appreciation for Wurundjeri generosity and support. We invite you to participate and experience this place of relationship. 

The theme of Reconciliation Week 2021 is - More than a word. Reconciliation takes action. We encourage you to represent the community and wear your pride and resolve, as you join us to connect with Wurundjeri for this Reconciliation week event

Yoga with Clare resumes next Tuesday (20 April) at the Newlands Senior Citizens Centre (Connolly St).

Join a small group using yoga posture sequences, breath, reflection and chant to unwind and connect with your inner self.

Students should wear comfortable clothes and BYO mat & blanket for work on the wooden floor.

Classes run on Tuesday evenings, 7.30 - 8.30 pm, and the investment is $155 for the term or $20 for casual attendance.

An award-winning hands-on hospitality training program for neurodiverse youth, TTT is a practical 20-week course that supports students to make a successful transition to further work or studies. It is also a job-active approved activity. Starts early May!

An 8-week course that dives deep into the systems that manage our energy, water and food - and explores how we can make these more sustainable, circular and fair. Through group discussions and activities, you'll learn more about climate change, ecological justice as well as practical tips to reduce food, energy and water waste at home. Our fantastic course facilitator and has worked across the government, non-profit and business sector, providing a range of expertise and different lens to approach these challenging questions.

Get your hands dirty and learn the skills necessary to work on micro farms, residential edible gardens and community gardens. Gain an understanding of the wide range of food production systems and pathways to employment in this field.

Sat 17th April (third Saturday each month), 10-11am at the front of the library.

Bring along your excess fruit, veggies, seeds etc to share and have a chat with other local growers.

A beautifully built, solid vintage wooden corner unit that has been looked after well and is in excellent condition. The shelves are removable, and the original key locks/unlocks both the top and the bottom door.

Depth: 350mm (top), 360mm (base)

Pick up from Coburg. It's one piece that can't be disassembled so you'll need a vehicle that will accommodate for the height and depth (I could fit it in my Hyundai i30 with the seats folded down).

Bookings for term 2 are now open for Yoga with Rachael.

Due to the easing of restrictions there are spaces available to come and try without booking for the term.

Classes are held at the East Coburg Neighbourhood House on Nicholson Street.

Tuesday 6.15pm - Vinyassa
Tuesday 7.45pm - Vinyassa with the final 10-15 minutes of class being a relaxation.
