Sunday Duckling Rescue!

An update for those that happened to see the pair of ducks and their babies brave the traffic on Elizabeth st.......lunchtime Sunday.

The parents and three ducklings made it to the pond at the end of Murnong St. A heroic effort. They had to trek through all the streets and the development site and under the cyclone fence!

They were not however reunited with the other two ducklings, so far as we knew. So if anyone happens to know what happened to the others.....we'd be keen to hear.

They joined quite a large group of similar ducks so if they stay there, there may be a chance of reunification for the ones that didn't make it.

Needed

A group of 17 artist from the remote Aboriginal community of Balgo in Western Australia are visiting Melbourne for a big art show from September 14-20.

They are crashing with friends in Northcote who are now desperate to find enough bedding, food, clothing & transport to host them all!

In fact, the host would be grateful for donations or loans of any kind including:

Food- cooked, tinned and assorted groceries 

Mattresses & bedding, pillows, sleeping bags, blankets etc

Car/mini bus, Tarago

Warm clothes (think scarfs, beanies, football jumpers - these are desert people, they'll be freezing & totally unprepared) 

Firewood

Volunteer help to chaperone & drive folks around

Myki cards

Heaps of other stuff that a mob of 17 might need!

This bike was left on our nature strip a few days ago. I've put it in our backyard and will look after it for a couple of days. If there are no claimers I'll put it back on the nature strip and let the circle of gleaning continue.

A Local Buddhist Monk is inviting the community to a regular Positive Thinking Session at Samadhi Buddhist Temple, 30 Malcolm Place Campbellfield.

free chest of drawers

We have a chest drawers we don't need any more. It has seen better days and is missing one drawer handle and has some paint splodges on it BUT it is well made, probably of some type of pine and could come up well with some work.

Sound Workshops

Hi there friends who have or might know people that have... 4-5 year old children!

Alice and I are running a sound exploration workshop at ArtPlay in Birrarung Marr, behind Fed Square this Saturday 6th of September.

There are two 45min sessions: 10:30am and 11:45am. Cost is $15 per child.

I've run this a number of times, usually with Rosalind Hall, and kids really get into performing 'micro-sounds' for each other. It's a lot of fun.

Booking is essential and is done via the ArtPlay website.
