Housemate Wanted

Untitled-2

Hi, my name is Jenny and I am happy to offer a room in a share house. Gender is not an issue.

I am located in Coburg, only a ten minute walk from Nicholson Street and a one minute walk from the Merri Creek, it's a very quiet location.

The sunny bedroom provides a wardrobe and is of a comfortable size.

You will also have sole access to off street parking and a shed/garage is provided for your own personal storage.

The back garden is massive and spacious, a relaxing outdoor atmosphere.

I am pet friendly and own a female cat named Daisy but am unwilling to own another pet.

Bond is $728 and the rent is due one month in advance at $168 a week.

Please call me if you're interested and have any further queries, I will be of great assistance answering your questions. Please feel free to call me and to organise a tour of the house.

Regards, Jenny.

FACEBOOK PAGE HERE

I've recently joined a group called 'GIFTS FOR MANUS ASYLUM SEEKERS'.

It's an excellent group that has direct contact with over one hundred men detained on Manus Island.  They send packages of requested items including clothes/shoes and devices to them with their English learning as well as provides entertainment (TVs, mp4 players, e-readers).  They also provide top-ups for mobile phones.  A $39 donation means that one man can use his phone for a month with unlimited access to Facebook.

The group can also connect you with one of the detainees, so you can write online and/or post letters/packages.

If you're unhappy with the government's harsh treatment of asylum seekers and want to help but don't know how, you could join Gifts For Manus Asylum Seekers Facebook page HERE

If it's all a bit too much for you but you'd like to help somehow, you could contribute a small donation to the group or if you're keen to get more involved you could buy/post items or communicate directly with detainees.

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!
