Weaving Workshops

Untitled-2

Hello all,

We have received financial support from Zero Carbon Moreland and Moreland Council to put on this term's Community Climate Action Series. With the funding we are engaging with an indigenous weaver and artist Bronwyn Razem to teach a series of weaving workshops and we are also holding a celebration day at the local neighbourhood house inviting an indigenous elder to do a smoking ceremony.

Check out this flyer for more info and share with friends and family - starts soon on Sat 24th!!

Grants

Untitled-2

In 2015 the Preston Branch of Bendigo Bank established Preston Connected Community, a not-for-profit association, for the benefit of the City of Darebin, particularly Preston residents.

With small grants, our association supports local not-for-profit community groups. See the website for examples of projects we have supported. Many local organisations have been able to accomplish significant projects with our help.

Our association is a hub, investing in projects which strengthen our community, often in innovative ways, to encourage and benefit us all where we work and live.

We encourage you to visit our website, where you will find information on how to apply for a grant for your community project. http://www.prestonconnectedcommunity.org.au/

What is it about holidays that make food and eating choices so darn hard?!

Why is it that we stop being autonomous humans on these days and base all our decision-making on what the holiday/our family deems is appropriate??

I mean, sure, the food tastes delicious at Easter, or Christmas, or Hanukkah - but why is it we stop being able to LISTEN to our bodies on these days and honour what we need, rather than override it with the story that says, ‘this is what you do because it’s Easter (or Christmas/ New Year/Thanksgiving/ Passover etc etc)’.

For the record, I am also not suggesting that the foods we choose to eat on these days are inherently ‘bad’ for us, or even unhealthy! But rather recognising where we go into ‘autopilot’ and make choices based on some idea or concept or family tradition, instead of what we are feeling in the present moment.

Anyone who has worked with me, knows that I am all about permission. In fact, this is what most of my work is about. How do we navigate our way through the stories, narratives, beliefs, and obligations that keep us from trusting our intuition and really LISTENING to our own needs and responding accordingly? Where are we giving our power away and forgetting to really tune in, honour and nourish all parts of ourselves? And how can we learn to love and listen deeply to this in our everyday life…

If this resonates for you, jump on the website  book in for a FREE 10-min chat and let’s find out how you can land back in your sovereignty, and reclaim your freedom in the way you eat, relate to your body and nourish yourself.

I am available every Tuesday and Wednesday via Telehealth (zoom or phone) with Charmaine Dennis (rogue Newlands Local) and The Melbourne Apothecary. I also run their Deep Sleep Yin Yoga - an online session on Monday nights before bed that you can do from your bedroom.
Check it out here for your first class for free. Love to see you there.
