We are getting some work done in the office by GBE Electrical.
A social enterprise
GBE is a not-for-profit social enterprise. This means it is an organisation run for a social purpose, in this case to provide employment for apprentices from backgrounds under-represented in the electrical trade.
Instead of depending on funds from charity or government, GBE earns most of its income by providing electrical contracting services. And because it is not-for-profit all earnings are reinvested in the business and the community. No dividend is paid to owners or shareholders.
And they’re local!
