The Tarkine is one of the world’s great wild places. A massive wilderness in the North-West corner of Tasmania, with a rich indigenous heritage. Boasting wild beaches, rugged mountains and the largest temperate rainforest in the southern hemisphere, its remoteness shelters the last disease-free Tasmanian Devils.
The Tarkine is under siege: threatened by rampant mining exploration and TEN proposed new mines (nine Pilbara-style open cut mines!).
