Moreland City Council and RMIT University cordially invite you to the official launch of a research report on housing, employment and social cohesion in Coburg and Fawkner.
Moreland Council in partnership with researchers from RMIT University and the University of Western Sydney, recently completed a research project investigating the role of housing, employment and local community in generating social cohesion in multicultural neighbourhoods 'in transition'.
The study compared Fawkner and Coburg, neighbourhoods currently experiencing social, demographic and economic change through the interactions between new migrant communities and established residents as well as through the process of the gentrification of inner Melbourne. The project was funded by a grant from the Scanlon Foundation.
The final report is available for download now and will be disseminated to other Local Government Areas (LGAs) with similar profiles and experiencing similar issues across Australia. http://www.moreland.vic.gov.au/community-services/community-development-programs/Housing-employment-social-cohesion.html
