Bank Stabilisation Works on Edgars Creek

Untitled-2

A happy new year to All.
A quick note on works scheduled to commence early in the new year addressing two key areas of concern along Edgar's Creek creek.
The erosion to be addressed are both close to the SP Ausnet power pylon near Ronald Street and will address the washout opposite the Gooseneck Meander and also the major washout of the bank on the west side of the creek that is undermining the walking path to the Gooseneck when approaching from the Ronald Street footbridge.
I understand that there will be a need to do some minor limb removal to facilitate access to the sites by the machinery (excavator). No tree removals are planned. Melbourne Water have funded FoEC’s work along the creek for many years now and that will far offset any minor limb removals and the temporary presence of machinery tracks etc. that will happen as a result of the works (trucks will also need to come on site to dump rock to be used in the erosion control.
 Regards,
 David Pavone
President, FoEC.
