Hi Members and friends, Thank you to Rob, Stephen and FoEC's wonderful volunteers for a stella effort in glorious conditions on Sunday. The M9 site at the concrete channel has grown exponentially with almost 500 plants in the ground. A big thanks also to Moreland City Council - Vince - for the supply of mulch on the site. We will be planting at the footbridge again later this year in another mulched area (thanks again Vince) and in 2015 we extend the M9 site to the footbridge with our new Melbourne Water Community grant (hopefully a new bridge by then!). I can't wait to walk through this area in 3-4 years!!! FoEC and Merri Creek Management Committee have an upcoming promotional event that will coincide with our next planting event on the 18/05/2014. We will be planting at the Silurian Cliff site 1-3.00 PM. Before that, there will be a Melbourne Water supported event at the Edgars Creek Reserve, off Ronald Street, North Coburg(Melways 18 A9) on Sunday 18th May, 10am-12noon. Queries can be addressed to - Jane on 93808199 or email jane@mcmc.org.au Our new neighbours at the Coburg Hill estate are being letter dropped to promote the event and hopefully they will join us for a free cup of coffee (we will have a coffee van on site) and the Friends of Edgars Creek will be on site. Hopefully you all know the great work our Friends do and that a few of the "new locals" will get to see the work we do or at least just come down and enjoy the Edgars Creek Reserve. See you on the creek! Regards, David.
