Hi Friends of EC,
What a relatively balmy day it is as I write this. Thankfully it will be like this on Sunday too so the forecasters say, though not windy like this morning. We have two events happening Sunday:
We are planting at the Silurian Cliff site 1-3.00 PM: where the willows once stood below the high cliff.
Before that, there will be a Melbourne Water supported event at the Edgars Creek Reserve, off Ronald Street, North Coburg(Melways 18 A9) on Sunday 18th May, 10am-12noon. FoEC and Merri Creek Management Committee are joining forces to promote the creek to our new neighbours at the Coburg Hill estate (Kodak). Queries can be addressed to - Jane on 93808199 or email jane@mcmc.org.au and don't miss the coffee van I say!
And a final point, I have been alerted to a recent letter box drop around Ronald Street by a contractor employed by Melbourne Water to undertake the periodic dredging of the concrete channel at Ronald Street. This is an unfortunate consequence of decisions made years ago - the channel is there and it needs to be maintained which creates this periodic disturbance for the creek reserve.
See you on the creek!
Regards,
David.
