A colleague of mine has launched a fundraising campaign to help communities in Tongoa, Vanuatu rebuild after Cyclone Pam:
She spent much of the last 2 years in Vanuatu conducting her PhD research. Tongoa was one of her field sites, and it suffered heavy damage. Up to 70% of houses lost in a number of villages. Emergency relief has been mobilized. However, they need support to rebuild their communities.
She is aiming to raise around $2,500-5,000 to fund building materials to repair houses and ground wells, and seedlings for their gardens.
See the link for further details about how the money would be spent.
I donated to honor the spirit of renewal with something beyond chocolate eggs!.
Pascale.
