Islamophobia: Raising Community Awareness
 Date: Sunday 09 August 2015
Time: 1.30 - 5 pm, doors open at 1 pm
Location: Coburg Town Hall, 90 Bell Street, Coburg
Cost: Free
 To raise awareness about the effect Islamophobia has in our community and what we can do about it. We would like to invite you to join us to raise awareness about the effect #Islamophobia has in our community and what we can do about it. This is a public event so everyone is invited, Muslims and non-Muslims.

  • Councilor Sue Bolton and Senator Janet Rice - Introduction
  • Andrew Gardiner: Racism and its effect
  • Dr. Yassir Morsi: Islamophobia: what it is and how to stop it
  • Robert Stary: War on terror and civil liberty
  • Waseem Razvi: Clearing misconceptions about Islam
  • Shaheed Drew: Islamophobia and our youth
  • Hanan Dover: Islamophobia and mental health

Food: Food can be purchased nearby from Sydney Road.
Childcare: Available for kids 2-10 years of age. Pre-registration required as there are limited places available. Call 0433 202154 to register for childcare.
