Hello everyone,
I have a lovely little rabbit named Otter, free to a good home.
Since my circumstances have changed, I am not able to give him the attention he
deserves.
I am looking for a good home where he is loved and cared for
(preferably with other rabbits for company and space to hop).
He is not desexed however if that is a problem I am happy to pay for the procedure.
He is very sweet in nature so If you know anyone who is interested or have any
questions call me on 0451 865 236.
William Brennan.

Hi Newlanders.

Would anyone like a free stove? It's a basic model Chef gas (oven and cooktop) and is about 4 years old. Works perfectly, being replaced as part of a reno.

You'd need to be able to pick it up by Thursday evening (or at least let me know that you want it and we can hold it for you). In George St West Preston.

Hi, we live in one of the post war brick houses in Coburg and we are
looking at buying some Tassie oak floorboards to match the current
ones. I notice that they are 65mmx19mm, but I don't seem to find that
size anywhere.
Does anyone know where I can get this size? Or does
anyone want to sell some if they have extra floorboards or pulling
some off?
We need around 14sqm. We are looking at buying recycled. I
found some 63x19mm on eBay, so might be the closest size.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Community Meeting

Untitled-2

Dear Brunswick Residents Group,

For your reference, Independent Ministerial Advisory Committee members Ms Penny Armytage and Ms Jane Brockington look forward to meeting with the community in Coburg, and surrounding suburbs, to discuss the public inquiry into the Environment Protection Authority (EPA).

Local residents, business and government representatives, community advocacy groups and volunteers will be consulted via a public forum this Monday, 21 September, from 5.30-7.30pm at:

Moreland Civic Centre
Coburg Concert Hall
90 Bell Street
Coburg

Ms Armytage and Ms Brockington seek to gather insights from the community and key stakeholders to inform their examination into the changing operating environment for the EPA. This includes new and emerging environmental challenges and public health concerns, as well as evolving expectations about the best way to combine environment protection with economic viability and improved regulatory efficiency.

Please refer to this link for detailed information about the Inquiry and to view the Terms of Reference: http://www.epa-inquiry.vic.gov.au/.

Attached for your reference is a copy of the Media Release and Discussion Paper that you may like to circulate to your stakeholders in lieu of the public meeting on Monday 21 September.

Here is also a link to our website which lists the upcoming locations/dates for other public consultation sessions throughout the state as part of the Inquiry: http://getinvolved.epa-inquiry.vic.gov.au

Thank you for your time and we hope to welcome a representative from your organisation at the public consultation session on Monday evening.

Friends of Edgar's Creek

Untitled-2
Hello FoEC'ers and Friends,

Well another season of planting is drawing to a close (though not the hard work - we have maintenance events planned still!). This Sunday the 20th of September (not the 21st that I seem to have made a mistake with a few times recently and when I did the calendar...) we are beginning the take over of the bridge near the Gooseneck site. The site has been prepared, mulched and all will be ready for a mass transformation between 1-3PM. As usual Rob will be on site before then and I plan to join him early as well. Sadly, no Stephen this time around.

Seems we have drawn the good cards for forecast - mild, 21 degrees, partly cloudy with northerly wind. Don't forget hats, sunscreen and water!

The planting will be followed by our annual "Christmas in September" celebration where we celebrate the great work of our wonderful volunteers. Hope you can join us and I look forward to seeing you on the creek!

Regards,

David.

·        Saturday Carnivale in the Mall

Full program details are available on the Coburg Carnivale 2015 page of the website.

One of the festival highlights will be the If These Walls Could Talk: Pop up Installation
For Coburg Carnivale 2015 four very special musicians have responded by writing or selecting songs inspired by the Bates Building 1st Floor on Sydney Road. Suzannah Espie, Tobias Hengeveld, Kavisha Mazella and Rich Davies have been recorded on site by Myles Mumford (Sound engineer) and Leo Dale (videographer). Their work will be shared at the Coburg Court House on 25 September in form of a casual pop up installation event supported by projections by James Voller.
Pop up event Friday 25 September, 7.30 pm at the Coburg Court House. Bookings are essential. Book NOW
Find out more about the If These Walls Could Talk Pop up Installation event HERE.
Call Out to Coburg Community

Coburg Carnivale's unique local history project, If These Walls Could Talk, would like to hear from people who have stories, experiences and information about the Bates building Coburg 400 -404 Sydney Road.
Of special interest is its history as the Taj Mahal Dance Hall and the fresco artworks depicting North Indian and Middle Eastern scenes on the first floor.
If These Walls Could Talk is a project that invites artists to respond to the heart and soul of little known places in our community, for example historical buildings, private rooms and special spaces. Poets, photographers, song writers, musicians, film makers, painters reinterpret, reflect and celebrate so that we all can share in the secret histories of Moreland.
If you have something to share email Council's Public Art Officer, Dan Mitchell or call 9240 1171 or come to the Pop Up Installation event on 25 September

Hi lovely Newlanders,

A friend of mine has just moved back to Melbourne from northern NSW and is on the lookout for a place around the Dandenong Ranges for herself and her 5 year old daughter.  I know it is not in the area, but just in case anyone has any leads for something around that way, I thought I’d put it into the (Newlands) universe.

She’s looking for a 2 bedroom, with a bath and possibly a coonara, not on a main road.  She’s been used to finding things word of mouth, so hopefully this can be a lead.

Let me know on cindy@raon.org and I can pass on her details.
Thanks,

Cindy.

Hi Newlanders,

My name is Barry and I am a qualified and experienced carpenter. I live in one of the red-brick Newlands houses and have had the pleasure of renovating several of these beautiful period homes. Summer is just around the corner so if you need jobs such as decks or pergolas, feel free to call me for a quote. I can also do small jobs such as fitting doors, locks, handles or general maintenance.
