In the light of recent ugly events including the racist booing of AFL legend Adam Goodes, anti-Muslim rallies and the registration of a new sophisticated anti-Muslim political party, the Darebin Ethnic Communities Council and Voices against Bigotry have initiated a community forum about racism. The forum is supported by Darebin City Councill as part of Community Safety Month.
The forum will hear from Aboriginal, Muslim and African speakers about their experiences of racism and gather ideas to counter it by creating a more inclusive atmosphere in our local area. To get involved, for more information or to stay in touch on these issues, contactinfo@voicesagainstbigotry.org or sign up to the newsletter list at www.voicesagainstbigotry.org
