After the recent success of the big garlic buy up we have another opportunity to buy beautifully grown blueberries at a very excellent price!!
Ive been speaking with Kris from Twelvetrees Farm and the berry season is drawing to a close but if we get enough interested folks we will be able to organise a special delivery straight from Twelvetrees in Tasmania to us here in North Coburg.
These berries are enormous, juicy and mouthwateringly delicious. Our family sampled a couple of kilos this weekend and we have eaten more than 2 kgs. It's been such a treat to let the kids eat their fill of blueberries, something that almost never happens!
These organic blueberries are only $30.00 per kilo, which is on par with regular blueberries that Woolworths sell. The difference being that these will have been picked the day before they arrive in Melbourne and they've been grown with love and care and they're bigger and tastier and healthier and the list goes on.......and on.......
We must get a minimum order of 60kgs to make the whole venture worthwhile and I think we have to cap it at 100kgs. The blueberries will come in half kilo packs and can be put straight in the freezer in their box so that in a few weeks when we can longer get local berries here in Melbourne we will be stocked up!
If you would can let me know indicative orders asap?
I will keep track and let you know if we can/cannot make the delivery amount. We will need to pay directly to Twelvetrees (most probably via bank transfer) and the order should arrive by the end of the week, so we need to get moving quickly.
Please text Mel on 0404 043 010 or email melmate@hotmail.com
I encourage everyone to buy up big, you will be patting yourself on the back when you can make a blueberry smoothie in July!!
From the folk at Twelvetrees farm:
We are a small family farm near Cygnet in southern
Tasmania. Our 112 acre property is
diverse, with a variety of plants and animals but our main crop is blueberries.
The farm has been certified organic for over 20 years and we are committed to
using the best practices we can manage; our techniques improve the health of
our environment, our food and our people. Among other things we build healthy
soil, prioritise animal health over profit, pay our workers fair wages, support
our local food system and use compostable packaging where we can.
As growers selling our food directly to eaters we are
participating in the transformation of Australian food culture, and appreciate
your effort and thoughtfulness in choosing to shop this way.
