5 Top Tips for Digital Images

Tip # 1:
DOWNLOAD your pictures off your devices monthly - Set up a basic folder structure for each year on your computer. Example: Main folder is called 2016, Sub Folder is called "20th Wedding Anniversary". Organise by theme/event. As photo organisers, we highly recommend you don't attach them to any software, that way if something becomes obsolete or you go from PC to Mac or vice versa, you will always be able to access them easily.

Tip # 2:
DELETE
the duds immediately this way your computer won't be cluttered with unwanted/bad pictures.

Tip # 3:
BACK UP
once the duds are deleted & they're organised into the correct folders. Back up to your hard drive, an external hard drive (and don't leave it plugged into your computer) & a cloud based service (this way if the other two fail you still have them safe).

Tip # 4:
SHARE
them with family & friends either via social media/email or regularly make photo books/print them and make albums for everyone to see.
Tip # 5:
ENGAGE A PROFESSIONAL
if it's all too hard or you don't have time. We can teach you simple solutions that will help you organise your photo collection and stay organised.

REMEMBER you are the caretaker of your families memories and they are worth preserving.

We have some DIY workshops coming up very soon, so please email your interest with "Workshops" in the subject line tojody@picturethisphotoorganising.com.au
