MEMBER ORGANISER NTEU – VICTORIAN DIVISION
The NTEU Victorian Division is seeking applications for two part-time (3 days per week) fixed-term (one year) Member Organisers based in the Victorian Division.
NTEU Victoria is currently implementing exciting organising campaigns across the university sector focused on improving job security. We need Member Organisers who can step into a dynamic team of staff who are leading these campaigns.
Member Organisers will be members of the NTEU currently employed in workplaces covered by the NTEU. The positions are part-time to enable members to continue their employment in the industry. Member Organiser positions are intended to develop the union consciousness and capacity of NTEU members, while increasing the union’s connection with the industry and its members.
The successful applicant will be heavily focussed on organising and campaigning. The position will work directly with Victorian Division, branch and National Office staff and officers. The current focus of these roles will be organising and campaigning with workers employed in precarious work.
That focus may change over the course of the employment.
The following Key Selection Criteria should be addressed in your application:
Demonstrated involvement in progressive social campaigning;
Demonstrated experience working with volunteers as a leader in a campaign setting;
Experience being actively involved in a trade union or similar organisation;
The ability to work autonomously as well as in a team;
Demonstrated commitment to and enthusiasm for trade union principles.
Understanding of relevant techniques to engage and motivate volunteers.
The Salary for the role is within the range of $75,759 - $81,909 + 17% employer superannuation contributions. A current driver’s licence is required.
