Friends of Edgars Creek

Untitled-2

Hi FoEC'ers and Friends,

Well before we knew it the back end of another planting season is upon us! We have had a taste of spring and soon we will be back into September football finals and the glorious warm days of spring.

But it is not too late to get some plants in the ground and that is what we are doing this Sunday! We are back to the usual FoEC time/day - Sunday at 1-3PM. We are planting at the Silurian cliff site again.

Unfortunately I have been having some IT issues and I am not able to provide a full run down as I usually would. I do know that we have plenty of plants coming so there will be no shortage of planting to be done. Rob, Stephen and hopefully me (depends on kids and weather) will be on site early to make sure that our volunteers can arrive to a well prepared planting site with plants and materials all waiting to go into holes that we have already prepared. The planting is focused on extending the silurian cliff site up towards the area of rabbit proof fencing below the escarpment (have a look at the Facebook page and/or websites for map details. Forecast is 15 degrees, though unfortunately it may be a bit damp - though plants and ducks love those conditions! Be a brave trooper and soldier on even if it is wet! If so, good boots, waterproof clothes and a thermos of something warm will be good equipment on the day.
