Friends of Edgar's Creek

Untitled-2

Hello FoEC'ers and Friends,

We are happy to present the second last chance to get planting with FoEC in 2017.
We are planting an area at the top of the escarpment that looks out towards Livingstone Street. For those who haven't seen this area - get there and look!
The Melbourne Water capital works project that saw the removal of the box thorn has continued with several thousand plants now covering the steep escarpment slope.
It simple looks amazing and will no doubt grow to be something special.
Our planting deliberately compliments these works and effectively links our sheoak woodland on the escarpment to the new Melb Water planting area.

The usual details apply - planting form 1-3.00PM with early birds welcome.
The details for this planting are only limited as it is not one of our Melbourne Water Community Grant projects.
Access is possible form Livingstone street, though only on a low water creek.
The forecast for this week looks promising for precipitation so I am recommending access as per our calendar description.
Cross the old Kodak bridge and head north up the hill and over to the far side of the escarpment.
Sundays forecast is little more like standard winter - 13 degrees and only 50% chance of up to 1mm.
The plant list ins included for your interest.

Basically here it is in a nutshell:

Sheoak woodland extension and consolidation – at the top of the escarpment.

Hosted by the FoEC, Funded by Satterley Property group.

Meet at the escarpment – access by foot from the old Kodak bridge, Spectrum Way, North Coburg.

See you on the creek!

Regards,
David.
