Gallery Curator Victor Griss says:
“The Counihan Gallery In Brunswick is celebrating its 20th anniversary
and presents two exhibitions with a strong local flavour to commence
its program for 2019. Recognising the establishment of the Ovens Street Studio the four founding members - Angela Cavalieri, Robert Hollingworth, Douglas Kirwan and George Matoulas celebrate a double decade milestone of their own in Twenty One Today with recent and key works.

Sharing in the program launch are 11 artists from the long running 23A Leslie Street Studios in Endangered Space who propose the studio space as an important eco-system where cross pollination between artists occurs, but equally as a cultural site facing the persistent threat from local gentrification.”

To be opened by Cr Natalie Abboud, Mayor Moreland City Council

With opening remarks from Sasha Grishin AM FAHA Emeritus Professor Australian National University, Art Historian, Critic and Curator
