Prom Coast Food Collective

Untitled-2

The day before the Collective's second birthday, the figure of $351,590.20...and on how small steps matter.
$351,590.20. This is the figure which has set our minds racing. This is the amount which the Collective has taken in sales over the past two years.

100% of this money stays with the Collective's farmers and makers. No exceptions.

Tomorrow, when orders open for April, the Collective "turns two". It is our birthday. And it has made us reflect on what we have created. We are very comfortable admitting that this is all an experiment. One beautiful, delicious, ethical, fun, experiment.

And it has worked.

Which leads us to think about how "small steps matter". When the enormity of changing the food system seems daunting, when we are trying to feed our families better, when we want to make everyday changes to our consumption habits, it can feel as though our actions are a drop in the ocean.

But together...

$351, 590.20 has been collectively put into the hands of small-scale organic and regenerative farmers and all that organic food, on your tables.

Your consumer spending is so powerful.

Small actions, small steps, they matter.

On behalf of all the Collective farmers and makers, we thank each and every one of you. Thank you. To the once-only shoppers, the never-miss-a-month shoppers, the dropoff hosts, gorgeous volunteers and well-wishers. Thank you.

Here's to the years to come.

We hope to see you in April, and beyond.

Sally and Amelia.

Found

Untitled-2

We found this beautiful bird in or front yard yesterday. It is very friendly and obviously domestic - likes to sit on people's finger or shoulder.

We couldn't leave it at Petbarn so we're  going to try Bird Boarding this afternoon.

Recommendation Sought

Untitled-2

Recommendation sought - builder to do renovation and small extension.

Hi everyone,

We are ready to start our house renovation that includes a small bathroom extension. Can you recommend a good builder?

We've done it before and are happy to pay a fair price for good service and quality workmanship.

Many thanks in advance.

Jon and Jill.

Free

Untitled-2

FREE WHILE IT LASTS!

Apparently Chemist Warehouse has tried to intimidate striking workers by dumping a truckload of blood and bone/manure next to them at 44 Raglan St Preston. Looks like a bunch of free garden fertiliser to me (may not be organic)! While you’re there have a chat to the workers who are on strike over a range of things including management failing to deal with relentless sexual harassment of staff.

And oh yeah - boycott Chemist Warehouse!

Clothes Swap Cancelled!

The rain is so welcome but it's too rainy to have the clothes swap this afternoon so we'll postpone it to another time soon!
