Friends of Edgars Creek

Untitled-2

Hello FoEC'ers and Friends,

Well if I took you out, dug some holes and told you the ground was ready for planting you'd probably tell me I'm crazy, it's too dry and the plants will die.

We are so lucky we have water in the creek and a damn good pump!

We kick of the season this weekend, Sunday 14th April 1-3 PM. The site is just of Livingstone Street in North Coburg and is very easy to locate from the power line easement at Livingstone street. It is literally just across the street and slightly up the hill on your right after crossing the creek. Suffice to say our creek is not running too high so the crossing is very easy at present. As per the past 10+ years, we will have people on the ground well before 1PM so if it suits you, let us know and we can make sure that there are tasks available for the listed start time.

We have a lovely day forecast, a little cloud around, light east to south-easterly breeze and top of 21 degrees. It is still warm enough so hats, water and yes, sunscreen are required. My son played footy last Sunday at 11.30AM and some parents looked at me a bit funny as  I applied the sunscreen. I missed a small spot on the top of his shoulder and it was glowing red! The UV ratings are still moderate to high in the middle of the day so protect yourselves.

We will have the usual tea break catered for by the group so a chance for a cuppa and a yarn will be part of the day as well.

I hope to see you on the creek!

Regards,
David
