Democracy Lab

Hello,

I’m writing to let you know about an exciting new project which Moreland City Council is running in partnership with The Public Value Studio.

We are asking you to help us to find participants by encouraging people in your network to apply. 

The Moreland Democracy Lab aims to support community-led ideas and create a collective of people that increase participation in community life.

It has been created to power a new group of community leaders in Moreland.

The Lab will run from 17 September to 12 November and will consist of weekly workshops.

Workshops will focus on topics such as:

• Moving from an idea to action;
• How to get others involved in;
• Influencing and influencing decision making.

There will be a particular focus on expanding each participant's network in their area of interest and building a community of practice amongst Lab members.

The Lab is especially for people who are new to civic participation - people who want to get involved but perhaps haven’t yet had the opportunity, or don’t know where to begin.

They could also be people who are keen to get involved with a collective of others that are local and share a common interest in community-led change.

Submitting an EOI is as easy as writing an email to democracylab@publicvaluestudio.com or calling 0423 533 144 and telling us about themselves and why they want to be part of the program.  

EOIs are due Monday 12 August 2019.
