Community Action

Untitled-2

Thursday, 6pm at Coburg Town Hall

Hello friends and neighbours

I am guessing that like me, you are all watching the bushfires rage across the country and feeling great heartbreak and despair as we see so many human and animal lives lost, landscapes devastated, and properties burnt - and perhaps anger and frustration with the lack of climate policy and action on the part of our federal government which is so much a part of this story.

Talking with the gals at CERES Joe’s Market Garden in Coburg, we thought it might be good to come together and talk about what we do - what is our response, what action can we take as concerned Moreland residents which will be meaningful and help shift the conversation and politics around climate. We know that we all have a role to play in transforming how we live and what we value, but what is our role as people who give a damn in Moreland?

When: This Thursday (9 January) 6.00pm
Where: Concert Hall East/Middle within Coburg Civic Centre, 90 Bell Street, Coburg.

We moved to this indoor venue because of the poor air quality as a result of the bushfires.  Thanks heaps to Michaela at Moreland Council for organising this for us.

We know that there are probably lots of people out there thinking the same way, wanting to get together and act,

Please send this invitation on to all who might be keen.  And if you already have ideas or plans afoot for action please let us know or bring them along because more than anything, we need to be working together right now.
