Recommendation

Untitled-2

Blessed are the cheesemakers (with apologies to Monty Python).

It's a challenging time, to put it mildly. Even more so for our regional small businesses and producers, particularly those in Gippsland. Which is why I wanted to give an almighty plug to the Prom Coast Food Collective.

As part of the Open Food Network, Prom Coast does a local delivery here to Coburg North every 4-6 weeks of home-made, biodynamic, organic foods and home products. I've loved trying all the different makers' veggies, meat, soaps, breads, pies, honey, dishwashing powder, room mists, seedlings -- and, this time around, cheese from Prom Country Cheese.

Picking up my order today, I found this note in a little cardboard box with the one cheese I ordered - along with an extra cheese! Seriously, what a beautiful, generous gesture in such trying times for these producers.
Let's face it, the big supermarkets don't need your money right now. But these guys do. And they're absolutely affordable; no middle-man mark-up, just lovingly home-made top-notch produce and products.

There's absolutely no time like the present to do a rethink and maybe a re-set on how you buy your food. So if you haven't tried buying through Prom Coast yet, please do - I cannot recommend them highly enough. And you'll most likely be helping to keep a family afloat.
