The Pandemic and hereafter. Pivot or fail?

It has been over three years now, since we launched, under-prepared, full of optimism, into our Collective collaborative (ad)venture. Starting with just a monthly “meet and greet”, we all got to know each other as farmers and consumers. It worked. So then, COVID-19 happened. Restrictions began and we started weekly deliveries. It worked. Now that restrictions have been eased, and people are out and about….well. we miss some of you. Thing is…and I know this might sound soppy. But. We want to be your farmers. We do a happy dance (possibly a fist-pump with a daggy overbite – couldn’t confirm that) every time we receive an order. But that’s the thing, that’s how invested we are. When you put through an order, we are not packing from a shelf of pre-purchased wholesale products. When you put through an order, an actual organic farmer receives a notification and digs up a carrot, cuts up a steak, bottles milk. For real. This happens. Farmers and makers on the Collective receive 90c in the $1 for their produce. That’s pretty much unheard of in our commodified system which continues to squeeze farmers. So, let us be your farmers. Let us take the place of your supermarket. Maybe not every shop, but what about 1 in 3 shops. We’re feisty. Female-and-farmer-led. And we will make change in our food system. Because regional and rural towns need this. And you get cheese…cheese is good. We deliver to over 200 suburbs and towns. You receive a text message at the start of delivery day of your estimated delivery time…and then you’re updated if that changes. Got a problem? There’s a number to call and you can speak to a farmer who is across all the deliveries and will sort it out on the spot. In a nutshell….if you haven’t looked for a while at what we offer and how we offer it, take another look.
