Biderap & Iuk Program Open For Bookings! 🎉

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season as we all ride the waves of the ongoing covid landscape. Regardless of the isolations, searching for RAT tests, and booster shots, we have been planning a bumper 2022 in the houses playing, making and hanging out with you all. We have called this program Biderap & Iuk which are two Wurundjeri Seasons: Biderap is the "Dry Season" (Jan-Feb) and Iuk is "Eel Season" (March). In Biderap you'll notice long hot days with little rainfall, and the Southern Cross high in the south at sunrise. During Iuk, the eels are getting fat and the days are becoming cooler. We thank everyone for feedback from the last program, we took inspiration from things you wanted to see more of - and got some great ideas from you too. This program is all about connection - to country, to each other, to your creative selves, to your bodies and to the neighbourhood houses. We heard lots of you had babies (congrats!) and so we've got 2 amazing new playgroups for you to attend and start meeting other local families. We have our second annual Necchi Passata Party, a beautiful community choir and a fabulous bamboo cubby to build. Stretching online & Yoga at East Coburg are back on the menu plus family friendly kitchen gardening sessions. We also have Screen printing with Danni McGrath, and an Ecologist guided Eucalyptus walks around the merri merri with the Merri Creek Management Committee - the first in our series of walks designed to help you learn more about the merri merri. Importantly we are running a Covid reflection session with a local social worker. In this guided session, we'll be reaching back into the past 2 years to reflect on and let go of what challenged us; whilst also harvesting and preserving the riches that we found during this time. This will be done through journal writing, personal reflection, group sharing and community ritual. There's so much more on offer for everyone so check out our website for the full list of offerings as always, sponsored places for all our programs are available - just email programs@necchi.org and we'll send you the code. We can't wait to see you at one of our programs soon 💕

COVID INFORMATIONLike everyone we are working week to week with what covid restrictions we need to plan for. Here are some things we are doing to make things safe and accessible:

  • Casual tickets are available for all programs & if you are unable to attend a class due to isolation, we will provide you with a full refund for the session(s) you will miss
  • All participants must be fully vaccinated and provide evidence upon check in, all participants must wear a mask indoors
  • We have deliberately kept most class sizes small -  we have rooms with good ventilation (doors and windows can be kept open for workshops)
