Friends of Edwardes Lake

Untitled-2

Happy long weekend!

Enjoy the area and lake if you are coming up (Especially for the Free Emma Donovan Concert on Sunday).
On a longer-term note we need your help to do two things;
1. Provide Edwardes Lake, Edgars Creek Wetlands, and Edgars Creek with an Environmental Significance Overlay - (ESO). An (ESO) ensures that the development of land does not affect identified environmental values and qualities.
Why do we want this?
Because any proposed activities near the waterway will need to consider its impact on the environment and the wildlife that calls it home.

2. Rename Edwardes Lake Park to a Woi Wurrung language name with the theme of water.
Why do we want this?
To suit the bushland sanctuary the space is evolving into.

To commit to continuing the journey of rewilding Edwardes Lake Park for the benefit of the humans, biodiversity, and the community.

To pay respect to country and the waterway.
