Local Co-op

Untitled-2

Hi, Everyone,

Orders for the next cycle are OPEN!

<< order now >>

To make it even more exciting, this one’s the first cycle with someone else at the helm.

Meet Dave! He’s volunteered to coordinate the logistics while Dee, the kids, and I are away in East Arnhem Land. (Thanks, Dave!)

We’ve already been out sourcing some new suppliers together.

Some changes this cycle.....

New spuds & onions

Dave has helped us find new suppliers for both potatoes and onions - organic and biodynamic, respectively.

Pasture-raised eggs from two farms

We’re now sourcing eggs from two pasture-raised egg farms: our original farm in Plumpton and a new farm near Mount Macedon.

There are some changes happening in the egg supply at the moment, so the price has increased from $7 to $8.50 per dozen. I’ve tried hard to keep the supply as resilient as possible and I’m stoked that we’re supporting pasture-raised chickens at a tough time to be a bird.

A call-out for helping hands...

We need a few more volunteers to help make this cycle work.

With Dave taking the lead, I’d love to see a few more people get around to help. There are lots of ways to lend a hand; spend an hour or two sorting and packing, ferrying orders, helping at a pickup point, or hanging out at our table at the Fawkner Festa…

If you’d be happy to help, add your name and number to this spreadsheet.

What should we call this thing?

The entity behind all of this is still Facilitating Flow, but I’d like to give this project its own name. I’ve been calling it Bulk Essentials… but it turns out someone already owns that one!

A few possibilities are:

  • Community Buying Power
  • Household Essentials
  • Local Essentials
  • Common Essentials

I’d really like your input. If you have a better idea, or a strong opinion about one of these, hit reply and let me know.

But first things first...

ORDERS ARE OPEN!

Orders close at 3.30pm on Sunday, 13 September.

Thanks for being part of this. I'm finding it lots of fun! Watching more and more people jump on board to help make sustainable and ethical products more affordable is cool.
