Earthships
Greetings Sustainable Living Supporters,
Earthship Australia was established in 2009 to provide resources, knowledge and experiences for people wishing to move 'off-grid' and learn how to build alternative thermal mass dwellings and structures. Earthships are one of many new radical modes of building which are complimenting an interest in alternative building design practices. It has been a growing movement attracting communities and professionals form a range of fields and we would like to welcome all to our upcoming event.
Coming up in September we have a weekend workshop seminar which combines practical experience with a host of seminars presented by experienced Earthship builders, architects, planners, engineers, solar experts and an opportunity to have drinks and network with industry professionals about alternative living options and processes.
A must for anyone with questions for the natural building industry or simply curious how to move forward in this direction.

Meditation
Friday morning parent and baby meditation and mindfulness
Rachael Millsom, mother and accredited meditation teacher, invites you and your baby or toddler (to around 18 months) to a Friday morning of mindfulness and meditation at Autumn Retreat.
Together we will explore simple ways to bring relaxation, centering and mindfulness techniques into your day – which your baby will love as much as you will.
Being with your baby is a wonderful and special time for both you and your baby. To celebrate that you will learn new ideas and ways to connect with your baby on a deeper level.
All the exercises you will learn are simple and easy to practice in your own home.
When: Friday 29th August 10-11am

Fruit Tree Workshops
Fruit squad are taking bookings for the following maintenance workshops:
- Session A: Plum and fig tree training, Coburg Sunday 17th August 2-4pm
- Session B: Fig and olive tree training, Northcote Sunday 31st August 2-4pm
- Session C: Pomegranate tree Saturday 13th September 2-4pm
- Session D: Orange and lemon tree Sunday 28th September 2-4pm
All the training will be undertaken by Elspeth Ferguson, a very experienced horticulture trainer. The sessions will cover tree care, pruning, harvesting and how to tell when the fruit is ripe. The cost per session is $15 for TD members and $20 for others. Places are strictly limited so first come, first served.
